Welcome to the final stage of the Chernobyl project 2017, the thread where we will see our target of 70 blankets achieved and even more, plans are already in place for delivery to the wonderful groups, and we can't wait for the children to have their beautiful blankets!

All crafting information can be found on previous threads, have a look here.... We are just so eternally grateful to everyone for every stitch and every moment of time spent on this project, we were worried we had 'bitten off more than we could chew' when we looked at the challenge of 70 blankets, or equivalent of 5600 six inch squares as Knotty worked out! But the Woolly Hugs crew never fail to amaze, thank you everyone so SO much! Thanks

There are 12 more kits out with crafters, and the final sort will be complete by next Thursday.

So nearly there Gin

Yay! Bristol is my neck of the woods, good to know some of the blankets will be given out there before heading off with the children.

WitchDancer · 05/05/2017 20:27

I think I shall have to give up doing my Masters and become a full time crocheter. It's really addictive ..... and there's so much wool out there that needs buying. I've asked DH to donate me some wool Grin. He's gone from you're a bit young for that to ooooh that's nice, can you
make us one.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/05/2017 20:36

Ooh what's your Masters in Okki? DD1 just has her dissertation to write for hers.

Okkitokkiunga · 05/05/2017 20:48

Woolly it's Social History - British and Irish from 1750 - 1950, but my interest period is more long 19th century. But it's all interesting really hence I still have no idea what to do my dissertation on. Need to decide in next 3 months or so.

Okkitokkiunga · 05/05/2017 20:49

What's your DD doing?

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/05/2017 20:51

Ah that would be considered 'too modern' for DD. She's doing Ancient History and spent 3 months geeking out studying in Rome.

Okkitokkiunga · 05/05/2017 21:08

Aah, if my memory serves me correctly, you've not long been to Rome have you where she showed you around? I am amazed by Ancient History but I can't "feel" it the way I can more recent history. Blame it on Georgette Heyer Grin

Yes Bristol!

There are at least 16 blankets to come back. The two Knots and I are making haven't been accounted for yet either. So wonderful! Thank you so much!
