Its only cos it happened before and at that time i also had an L in my name

wouldn’t have thought about it otherwise

can’t remember who it happened to before 🤔

I'm too lazy to register all those versions. Let's just say that, if I start calling you all morons if you don't promise to vote Labour, please call the Mumsnet police.

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 19:14

Flo don’t worry we’d see it and protect your name 😀

Where’s the original Endless poster have they been on this thread?

Floisme · 16/04/2023 19:14

874 posts, mate. Did you reply to them all?

Passing over the 'mate' as believe it or not, I'm not after a fight with you, I'm simply pointing out how it looked. If you don't want to take any notice it's up to you.

But yeah I’ll call the mumsnet police 😀

@noblegiraffe My educational experience extends to having been to school and having a DD who is at school so, professionally, I don't know sh*t from sugar. If I'm reading you correctly, you are working in an environment where the central guidance is next to useless, the SLT make it up as they go along but blame working teachers for any blow-back, a pastoral team that is unqualified to perform its role, and the complete absence of a legal framework for making or documenting decisions.

I could hug you. While it might be easy to criticise any individual decision that you made, it's clear that you are trying to balance competing needs and wants while working in a miasma of gloop.

I would have walked in a New York minute.

I don't know, maybe she was on to begin with and then got taken over like in the Body Snatchers. Or maybe she's out for the day and has no idea about any of this kerfuffle!

Do you know how it looked to have a troll mocking trans children and making mad suggestions about how to deal with vulnerable children and having other posters nodding along or not seeming to have an issue with it?

If you're not up for a fight, perhaps stop trying to police how I post or who I do, or don't respond to?

Floisme · 16/04/2023 19:21

Noblegiraffe. You're a good person and I'm sure you're a good teacher and I can understand why you're mad but I'm disengaging now.

It certainly is shit for schools. Headteachers have been dropped in it too, by the lack of government support. And you can guarantee that whatever decision they have made will have been met with strong feelings from both sides.

Mummyoflittledragon · 16/04/2023 19:32

Gosh I’ve just got to the end of the thread. I was a bit confused by the comments from EndlessTea as she’s normally such a measured poster… I mainly threads more than post as I’m reading to learn, then got half way through, and all posts were gone. I’m glad to see it was an imposter.

I’m so sorry to read about your dsd @EmotionalSupportHyena. I’ve read your recent comments on a few threads and how the school have treated her and what they said about her mum. I hadn’t made the connection that she is fantasising about having surgery. I do hope you manage to protect her. I’m not sure how old she is, perhaps you mentioned it before. I imagine a similar age to my year 10 dd. You sound like such a caring soul.

Have to say I didn't get involved - because I also had an issue with a poster called EndlessTea ( amongst a few others) when I first started posting again a few months ago. I decided then not to get involved further. Have to say I thought the posts I did read were increasingly intransigent, unreasonable and lacking in nuance.

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 21:21

Reading The Telegraph article it’s a bit better than I thought. Although I’m not sure about the non contact sport and tye at risk

The latter needs to not let people off the hook, it needs a good process

My school didn't go the Stonewall route so nothing to roll back there.

I do think that schools who have transitioned children without parental knowledge or consent are now going to be in a very difficult position and perhaps will want to wait for the guidance so they can see exactly what changes they need to make.

Although the guidance is non-statutory so there isn't actually a requirement to change anything, you'd hope that it would give strength to the arm of anyone wanting to challenge the school.

So if theres nothing to roll back in your school, what are you arguing for?

Thanks, @NotHavingIt, interesting that you also had issues posting here, and presumably with a different Endlesstea!

Not posted since the 7th of April. On a thread where there seemed to be a lot of deletions.

There was a pp taking about ‘keyboard warriors’ whilst claiming to be GC or a ‘terf’

FWR is mostly GC

I think it’s just typical combative posting style used on all threads

Usually avoid

noblegiraffe · 17/04/2023 07:41

Marsha, I've been ignoring you and your sly digs and attempts to goad this whole thread. For god's sake, pack it in.

Perhaps not an imposter then, particularly given @NotHavingIt 's previous issues.

MarshaBradyo · 17/04/2023 07:44

Not aimed at you Giraffe unless you said keyboard warrior terf

You can include yourself or not I don’t care.

Your reaction is your own.

Sometimes it is better just to bow out. Once people get dug in the back and forth can go on for a whole thread. It is not worth the emotional stress and not much is being conveyed, or achieved.

Needmoresleep · 17/04/2023 08:05

A pity. Trans ideology snuck into schools when no one was watching. It has caused great damage. Reversing it requires compassion and understanding. There is no quick fix. There is a need for informed and respectful debate. We, on MN or elsewhere, might not all agree but we should listen and consider.

Slamming teachers, slamming the Government, slamming anyone gets us nowhere.

As someone who doesn't have skin in the game any longer, I broadly agree with you. However I don't think parents whose kids are in the system right now have got the luxury of time.
