Interesting…

Floisme · 16/04/2023 16:55

Yes it is. I've not seen that explanation from MNHQ before!

Me neither! , very odd.

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 17:01

Are you looking at something from mnhq?

Have I missed their comment

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 16/04/2023 17:03

No marsha

its just the explanation theyve given on the deletion messages

Yep. People will say anything.

On that basis there's no reason for us to believe anything you say, either. And no point at all in you being here if you're not going to believe anyone else's posts.

Fine by me. You scroll on by.

I ‘ve been on FWR long enough to trust others and vice versa.

If this is an outlier thread with the usual lot sniping away fine by me I won’t miss them when they go elsewhere.

I think as far as I can see we had someone pretending to be EndlessTea, but using the username 'EndIessTea' instead, a capital 'I' instead of a lowercase 'L'. Look closely at the username on the deleted posts.

This isn't the first time this has happened.

Wow!

Thanks Arabella.

Oh right I see what you mean

I'm glad I'm no longer teaching. I see what my daughter is encountering in schools now - with the promotion of gender identity Theory/Queer Theory and I'm not sure I'd last long without being vocal, disruptive and non compliant.

I know the prevalence most likely varies from school to school - though from what I've seen from my daughter's experience is that it is in all schools now to a greater or lesser degree - even in primary schools. It would be good to hear of people's experience with primary schools ( I've already shared a personal experience with my granddaughter's primary school - though for them it was a first brush with a 'trans child')

I've personally encountered a young child of about five years old who had clearly been transitioned by his mother ( MTF) - and it was interesting to observe how 'masculine' he was in body, stance and athleticism - even at that age - which made the transition even more incongruous.

ScrollingLeaves · 16/04/2023 17:51

I wonder what primary schools can do when it is the other way round and a teacher feels the parents have simply decided a child is trans?

PomegranateOfPersephone · 16/04/2023 18:38

It seems we might be wise to avoid usernames with I (i) or l (L)…

But then again it could be any letter I suppose, it is just that those two are impossible to see.

I was going to say that I thought EndlessTea had been around for a while.

I recall it happening before.

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 16/04/2023 18:43

yeah same

Floisme · 16/04/2023 18:52

Ooherr an l or an I?
... so FIoisme instead of Floisme?
Yikes.

Are you sure you understand the anger? You appear to be going head to head with one or two posters but meanwhile at least one other poster has shared a distressing personal situation and yet I've not seen any teachers on this thread even acknowledge what she said, even though at one point, you posted straight after her.

I've been responding to posts to me, which have been quite a lot. I don't actually know what you are referring to so probably missed it, like I missed when someone posted a link before, this is a very long thread. If I've just posted straight after someone, then if their post appeared while I was typing mine, again, probably not read it.

However, I'm not sure why someone not responding to every poster on a thread is an issue? I mean, I've been replying to a poster who was posting increasingly unhinged stuff, and yet no one else seemed to notice the unhinged stuff. Or maybe they didn't want to challenge it. Or maybe they didn't have a problem with it.

As that poster is now revealed to have been a troll, it turns out I was right to have a problem with what they were posting.

EmotionalSupportHyena · 16/04/2023 18:53

Probably best to reserve all versions!

RufustheSpeculatingreindeer · 16/04/2023 18:55

Yes, thats what I do when I remember emotional 😀

Floisme · 16/04/2023 18:56

Do you Rufus?
God I'm so naive.

Ourladycheesusedatum · 16/04/2023 15:35

Was the stonewall "advice" practical, applicable and compassionate?

I'm going with not, because of how many it harmed.

If stonewall et al advice was taken and it was beyond the law already in place, why are we waiting now to bring common sense back?

My school didn't go the Stonewall route so nothing to roll back there.

I do think that schools who have transitioned children without parental knowledge or consent are now going to be in a very difficult position and perhaps will want to wait for the guidance so they can see exactly what changes they need to make.

Although the guidance is non-statutory so there isn't actually a requirement to change anything, you'd hope that it would give strength to the arm of anyone wanting to challenge the school.

That is an excellent idea.

Yes, it's very hard to spot, only really visible if you look damn hard!

God I'm so naive.

Its only cos it happened before and at that time i also had an L in my name

wouldn’t have thought about it otherwise

can’t remember who it happened to before 🤔

Yes you were.
Or from another point of view, you got so locked in combat with a poster who turned out to not even be real that you appeared to be ignoring other points from anxious parents. And much as I admire teachers, I unashamedly take the parents' side here because this is going to take years, decades even to sort stuff out whereas like I've said, if your kid's in the system now they've got one shot.

874 posts, mate. Did you reply to them all?
