Of course we care about those kids. Jesus mercy! So much hyperbole and blind hate and blame

I also suspect some of you are conflating what schools and teachers are doing in Northern America with the situation here.

Of course people are not conflating with North America, it’s happening here in the U.K.

This thread shows it, many posts along same lines as this

‘I too have taught students where I have to use their trans name in school but am not allowed to mention it to parents.’

As for petty personal attacks that was you, other posters called you out for it. You can of course apologise for going there first.

Mumsnet makes parents' lives easier by pooling knowledge, advice and support on everything from conception to childbirth, from babies to teenagers.

My school hasn’t been acting on stonewall advice. You really need to stop generalising about an area it seems you don’t have much experience of.

From the op on that thread

‘I fell on tenterhooks round this student - especially at parent’s evening and reports as their parents are unaware so I have to use birth names.‘

swallowedAfly · 16/04/2023 12:43

I didn’t make a personal attack I commented that you were sounding like a party political broadcast. As stated, despite endless accusations of being a labour bot, I don’t do party politics and find them a divisive distraction from a situation and concern that is beyond such window dressing.

You think parents haven’t much experience re: how gender ideology is imposed on our kids in schools?

Mate, you couldn’t be more wrong. This shit is corrosive and causes knock on problems for entire families.

Yes and it was a snide petty attack which added nothing to the discussion

Other posters called you out on it

It’s typical of how you post I suspect which is why you can’t see the issue. You are the problem though when lowering the discussion.

Again we don’t use outside agencies for this and never have and I think any specific heads who’ve done so without due diligence need to be investigated rather than tarring all schools and every member of education staff with the same brush.

How is it crap? Are you psychic now too?

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 12:48

Why are teachers so defensive. This is a an issue for many

Instead of pretending it doesn’t exist - North America fgs

See what people are actually saying

swallowedAfly · 16/04/2023 12:49

I despair really.

I‘m sure. Being wilfully blind to it is probably easier

Read the other thread where posters are being honest about it

Furthermore, teachers have no idea what each other do or say in the classrooms.

This is a very good point.

And how many of us know what happens at the LGBTQ club?

It is. I drop you can’t change sex into conversation with dc sometimes and going by chat gender ideology is promoted at the school.

I think children who are struggling socially may be attracted to the LGBTQ+ Club and there will be precious few other lunchtime club options for them. So this club is a dangerous concept...children shouldn't be being encouraged to set their sexuality so young.
In the 1970s I used to go to 'needlework' club 3 lunchtimes a week. Much safer lol and what a wonderful teacher to give up her time like that.
My kids are adults now but I remember wandering round their Comprehensive school in Scotland at a parents' evening once and seeing a sign for the LGBT Club. It surprised me I think. It was certainly never publicised by the school to parents.

Totally. My kids are wise to this and report back to me. I know exactly which teachers are stonewalled and which aren't. There is no consistency within schools.
