I've been accused of all sorts of bullshit on this thread. 🤷‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 11:57

Loads on the left are complicit in this - whether it’s unions, SNP, Welsh Labour, pastoral teams hiding information and that’s before you get to o/s and the horrors of NZ, Canada and so on

If Labour get in maybe they’ll just be happy no one is talking about it anymore.

Depressing as hell.

I agree with all this.

From the perspective of a family directly affected by a school who decided they knew better than the child’s parents and caused direct harm to that child and indirect harm to the family (including an extremely vulnerable younger sibling).

noblegiraffe · 16/04/2023 12:06

If you think the children you personally know to be so vulnerable you can’t even bear to think of the looks on their faces if they are re-introduced to reality

In a blunt, whole school assembly where everyone would turn to look at them. Let's not forget that bit of this retelling which you seem to have inadvertently left out.

As for the rest of your stuff....
I mostly avoid pronouns (parents evening is more difficult), I use the name on the register that the parents have specified, I've never referred to a child using an opposite sex pronoun.

Like I said, I've been accused of a lot of bullshit on this thread. Accusing me of harming children is a new low. Shame on you.

swallowedAfly · 16/04/2023 12:17

There are such horrible personal attacks and inaccurate accusations going on on this thread.

Also a total lack of comprehension that the kids caught up in this are victims of tra movements and as we know from any reputable studies likely to have comorbid mh disorders, send, history of sexual abuse, ED, homophobic families etc. Yet you’re repeatedly abusing a poster for naming them as potentially ‘vulnerable’ and saying that any plans need to consider their vulnerability.

As I’ve said total terf here. Also what I’ve come to call a conscientious abstained from voting because none of the parties operate without misogyny and a total disregard for children and all are complicit in eg not calling for proper prosecution and sentencing of child abusers and sexual offenders and refusing eg to define vaw as a hate crime.

My condemnation and lack of sympathy extends pretty far on these issues but not as far as hating on and having no regard for vulnerable children.

No apology for accusing me of harming children then, which is, quite frankly, a fucking awful thing to say?

Or are you still trying to think how to twist it so that I'm the one in the wrong?

MarshaBradyo · 16/04/2023 12:25

All children are vulnerable. They are vulnerable members of our society. That’s why they need specific safeguards and protections, including being protected from ideological propaganda in schools.

So true

saraclara · 16/04/2023 12:26

I've wanted to have similar conversations on this branch, but found it impossible. I'd just like to thank @noblegiraffe and @Hercisback for their calm tenacity in the face of irrational demands and plain fiction. The latter somewhat ironic, given that some of the same people are vocal about not being prepared to lie.

It's only too clear that some participants in this thread have no idea of the reality of being a teacher, what a teacher is free to do, and how they feel about their pupils.

swallowedAfly · 16/04/2023 12:27

That assembly would clearly result in horrific bullying and trauma for some kids. Do you really want teachers who are ok with an approach that would create that for any child?

I also suspect some of you are conflating what schools and teachers are doing in Northern America with the situation here. My own school would never change the name or anything of a child without the parents pushing for it to happen. We don’t allow males in female toilets, changing rooms or pe lessons. We don’t have external trainers coming in to talk about trans issues or sre and don’t compel pronouns.

I also know that one of the teachers you keep attacking actually speaks out when they encounter anything questionable in pshe materials as I do.

That is just completely untrue. You’ve repeatedly accused me of made up crimes, of being a liar etc and never apologised or acknowledged you were wrong when I’ve corrected your projections and assumptions and keep on with the endless digs and accusations. How is that constructive at all let alone with someone who is clearly an ally on this issue?

It's bizarre that you would even consider that. If my child was removed from an assembly so that everyone else could talk about them/listen to an assembly about them, I'd be absolutely appalled. Excluding then creates the potential for even more bullying.

There is no possible way to have the kind of assembly that your suggest. That you DO suggest it, leads me to think that your idea of safeguarding is completely limited to one issue and one group.
