Why isn't OJ leafing the charge to ensure there are enough unisex facilities for them to use? And the glaring omission in his post is that men can be violent towards other men. Why isn't he campaigning about that?

I don't know why we focus so much on people like Andrew Tate when Owen Jones is on mainstream media a lot and I can't think of another man who openly despises women as much as he does.

From the rape of women on October 7 to men in women's toilets to 'sex work', his view is always anti-women.

I don't even think he's left wing - his views have changed dramatically over the years depending on what's popular (remember when he was vehemently anti Corbyn and then, after the 2017 election, was his biggest cheerleader).

My FB feed is full of people angry about the guidance and saying it must be stopped. (Not friends, just randoms, but it's worrying how much support for that view there is in the comments.)

yeah I’m now seeing lots of posts. Went off to google and few sites did reports a few days ago like it was new news.

He could be using his platform to encourage men to open their hearts and embrace all users of their facilities. But no.

I sometimes think about him and his appeal for a broody lesbian, for possible procreation purposes, and the fact that he didn't appeal for a broody TW. Why not, Owen? Why not? He knows, deep down, that TW are not W.

Maybe Jones could be a lead in trying to stop male violence rather than just accepting that it is a problem. I realise this would take time away from whatever ‘fashionable’ cause he’s into at the moment and probably won’t bring him much money on to his YouTube so won’t happen, but there is always hope.

The default with Owen Jones is always for women to be the collateral damage and/or human shields never, ever to address the problem with men, if there is indeed one since there have been ZERO reports of any incidents in men's toilets towards trans identtifying males.

It is in response to the guidance put before parliament a few days ago in response to the Supreme Court ruling that 'yes, sex does mean sex'.

Sounds like a male problem Owen, you're a male so get your own sex sorted and leave females alone.

But as said above it's not about men accepting some men as they are it's about forcing women to accept men as women.

I agree he seems to hate women quite a bit does our Owen, I wonder if it's because he hates himself and he's just projecting that on to womenkind, because women are to blame for everything, well known fact ain't.

It's his acceptance that men will be mean to trans women that gets me - he isn't calling for men to be nice, to be more welcoming. He expects men to be horrible and so it's women's job to fix it. And he doesn't see how that looks.

Read the guidance and the SCJ Owen love, and calm down. It repeatedly does not expect men with trans identities to have to use men's spaces unless they choose to; it expects that gender neutral options will be provided, and clearly sets out this expectation to service providers.

The only thing men can't do is force themselves on non consenting women, and prevent the women who need single sex spaces having their needs met too. And if they're upset by that, then frankly, it's a 'them' problem.

I'm sure this is true for some transwomen but I doubt it's true for the majority. The transwomen I've known absolutely terrify men.

Here is an idea, if you recognise male violence is the issue, then ask men to deal with it. We’ve got enough shit to do Owen. FWIW I think unisex toilets in places in the answer. Unisex sporting category’s and unisex prison wings. If people don’t like it tough. Compromise isn’t for everyone but it solves the issue, crack on.
I am a lefty, I want decent healthcare, welfare for those in need, I want decent education and I’m absolutely not opposed to those who work hard in crappy jobs getting government reprisals because the pay that carers, retail, cleaners get is so shite. I’m all for worker rights and protecting the vulnerable and not going into any wars. I’m anti austerity. Yet, Owen Jones makes me queasy. I remember him writing about the demonisation of chavs. Being from social housing/scummy chavvy family etc I agreed with lots of things he said. But he still irked me. Some people just have grifter energy and OJ is one.
