Survey on culture in the UK - 'trans rights' questions

ArabellaSaurus · 08/11/2025 21:12

New survey

19% of people say 'trans rights have not gone far enough' in the UK.
39% say 'trans rights have gone too far'.

That's a really big change in the past five years.

'The proportion who say transgender rights have gone too far in the UK has more than doubled since 2020, from 17% to 39%, though overall there is still no public consensus on the issue, with 19% now saying transgender rights have not gone far enough, 27% saying they’ve gone as far as they should, and a further 15% not giving an opinion.
The proportion of people who say transgender rights have gone too far has doubled among all age groups – even 16-24s, where one in five (19%) now feel this way, compared with around one in 10 (9%) in 2020. However, young people are still more likely to say transgender rights have not gone far enough (36%).'

I would have no problem with this scenario.

In fact my sister said she was given tampon in the ladies loo by a trans person because she ran out and the trans person had them on her as she had seen so many women in that situation.

Women helping women.

AHH yes I've lost count of how many times I've asked a man in the female toilets for San Pro.
I've never even asked a woman I don't know.

Really? I find men queueing up in the loo to give me San Pro!
You must be using the wrong loos!

lol afraid you jumped the shark even further with this. We know very well that the whole "ooooh the ladies in the loo so totally saw me as a fellow laydee that discussed tampons" is a classic TRA fetish and fantasy

away with you back to Reddit now

Interesting...

So does your mum get changed in front of men (sorry, transwomen) then?
How far? Down to underwear?

Apparently, this man’s female colleagues do this all the time in a mixed sex changing room. So, the mum just have no issue either.

There is something really not quite believable about these posts.

I agree but to me it is not even just about danger. It is far more sinister. This is not a hypothetical situation as it happened where I live. The girls were basically told that they had no rights to any boundaries. They had to put aside their discomfort. The tw in question could have easily used the male changing rooms (and had been recently with no problems) or accepted a separate changing space. No, this person insisted that the young women should be present too. I cannot understate how detrimental this is. Why on earth do you think women should be taught that their boundaries do not count when it comes to validating what men want?

I actually feel physically sick about that. So angry on your behalf and the girls x

Helleofabore · 09/11/2025 19:05

My sister is so cool, she accepts san pro offerred to her in the female toilets by a male person who just so happens to hang around to offer san pro out …

really?

Ok… perhaps the family cannot recognise healthy boundaries at all all then.

Perhaps your sister has never had occasion to wonder how autogynophiles operate?

Obviously there is no way of knowing whether or not the generous TW handing out tampons in the ladies' was getting a kick out of doing so or not, given part of the excitement for those that do is to hide in plain sight.

The key point here being that all (biological) males should be staying out of the ladies as nobody can determine with certainty which ones are or aren't autogynophiles.

Oh no you've gone too far with the tropes now. Sad, as I thought you might be genuine. I'm out. Have a good evening everyone. I'm off to make pork stroganoff. Yum.

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 09/11/2025 19:09

Gnasher1981 · 09/11/2025 18:07

Yeah, that's the same thing in this case.

As a man, I would like to ask you if you have any women that you care about in your life? A girlfriend? Wife? Mother? Grandmother? Daughter? Sister? Aunt? Niece? Granddaughter? Colleague? Cousin?

Because you don't seem to give much thought or care to their feelings or safety compared with the thought and care you lavish on men who would prefer to be seen as women.

I have been in many unisex toilets and there have been zero problems

I've never been mugged for my phone. Clearly, there is no phone robbery problem. If I use your logic.

I have never been saved by my seatbelt. Still put in on everytime I am in the car, even though it is a bit uncomfortable.

I can see why you would think that.
The changing room at work is tiny so we just get changed in the corridor.
No nudity, but there is underwear. Nobody cares.

CohensDiamondTeeth · 09/11/2025 19:16

Gnasher1981 · 09/11/2025 18:40

All good points and I do not know the answers.
I don't think girls feeling do not matter, and I hope this can all be settled somehow.
Maybe with a third changing room.

Trans identified men don't want third (fourth) changing spaces/toilets you silly silly boy! 🙄

A lot of the women here were all set to campaign alongside trans people for extra spaces and sports categories etc etc, we wanted everyone to feel safe and included.

I think someone already mentioned this:

Open swimming category cancelled | Mumsnet
(the link no longer works for me, so here is the guardian article about it)
Swimming World Cup category for transgender athletes cancelled after no entries received | Swimming | The Guardian

Trans identified men railed against any suggestion that trans identified people be (happily) supported and accommodated in extra spaces or categories. Women who had offered support for those things were met very violently with death and rape threats, they were shouted down, called bigots, fascists, and de-platformed, and persecuted via police or their work. Women were targeted and attacked (in the physical sense, as well as verbally online or in person), disproportionately to the few men who were also saying the same things.

We are told it would be outing and othering for trans people to have separate unisex toilets and changing rooms, which is bollocks (no pun intended!), because we know that with clearly marked extra spaces there are a number of allies who don't have a trans identity, as well as trans identified people of both sexes who would use them. So in a crowd of people of both trans and no trans identity no one is outed or othered, it was a bullshit argument.

It became very clear, very quickly that this was a male rights movement that requires complete capitulation (or else!), and more importantly access to the non-consenting women, because the consenting women are not enough for them!

I wish men like you would sit down and be quiet, you are part of the problem and you are directly harming women by adding your support to the cause of the MRAs. I wonder if that is the point in you coming here? Did you intend to come here to be abusive to women? Because I'll tell you buddy IMO what you're doing is an abuse of women, whether you recognise it or not.

I don't believe this because we REAL women don't go about telling other women that we have run out of tampons. We just don't. Unless we are with the woman and actually know them.

In all my years I have never had a stranger come up to me in the toilets and say she has ran out of tampons!

So, first we have the unlikely scenario where your sister told a stranger that she was out of tampons.
Second unlikely scenario that it just so happened to be a transwoman.
Third, the transwoman happened to have a tampon.

Yeah right.......

Whoop whoop for your sister but in the same situation my boundaries would have been crossed because they include no men in women's spaces and not discussing my San Pro with randos.

CassOle · 09/11/2025 19:20

I think Gnasher has shown very effectively why more people think 'trans rights' have gone to far.

What a berk.

Thanks Arabella for posting the statistics. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues when the next survey is done, especially as I am beginning to see that women are becoming less afraid to speak up.

I feel a trans woman is a woman and there needs to be discussion about this subject so that your daughter can understand she will not be in peril.
The trans person just wants to exercise and get changed without being thought of as dangerous.
At my work we all get changed in front of each other without any issues and the one person who doesn't want to go into a cubicle.

But you said you were a cis man, are you seriously saying that your changing rooms at work are full on unisex? Or are you getting changed in front of other men.

tbh, I think you are one of our regular basement dwelling TRAs, I can hazard a guess who, the writing style is very similar. I’m bored of feeding you now.

Unfortunately, as you have identified, there are men that get off on talking about toilets and what happens in them. There are webpages dedicated to hidden camera footage. Victims are women, children and men but perpetrators are men.

One of the posters on this board (a man who said he was from Australia) was arguing that voyeurism wasn’t a problem. So I looked up the city I think he was from. In his city, a trainee surgeon was arrested for secretly recording videos of hundreds of female colleagues in the toilets of several different hospitals. It took me 20 seconds and one google search to prove him wrong.
