The world has probably had enough of sturgeon to last a lifetime but today’s ‘revelation’ from her shite book is just infuriating.

A long catalogue of poor me, I’m pure of spirit, any criticism is toxic, everyone else is malevolent.

Despite calling people who don’t agree with her idiotic bill racists, homophobes and misogynists, here she says JK’s teeshirt didn’t elevate the debate or illuminate the issues.

And then goes on to say that this issue wasn’t really that important to mainstream voters but we are all guilty of hysteria.

And she wishes she had the courage to call a rapist female.

For someone allegedly politically astute this book is a very stupid strategy. Slow hand clap.

Nicola Sturgeon accuses JK Rowling of creating ‘toxic’ trans debate

Former first minister says author stoked ‘vile’ attacks that left her fearing for her physical safety

She is clearly a narcissist in love with her saintly self. As a commentator above said probably best not to say fully what I really think of her.
Did she title the book Mein Kampfervan?

😂

WinterTrees · 12/08/2025 09:18

Reading that just makes me more aware and more profoundly grateful than ever to JKR for her astounding courage in stepping up. Where the fuck would we be if she hadn't?

Politicians build their own castles and call them memoirs. Here, in paper and ink, are their fortifications; the battlements, drawbridges and moats designed to protect their reputation, and their legacy, from hostile forces. This is their safe place, their response to the critics in the peanut gallery and all those who, having never found themselves in the arena, have no true idea what it is like to fight there.

On the evidence thus far — extracts published by The Times and The Sunday Times at the weekend — Nicola Sturgeon’s autobiography is an artfully constructed piece of special pleading designed to demonstrate, once and for all, that Nicola Was Right All Along and it was only a shame everyone else was marching out of step.

Oh dear.

It seems everyone has her number.

Nevermind.

London’s left indulged the Nicola Sturgeon fantasy

To the English intelligentsia, the former first minister was the anti-Boris Johnson, but her relentless tribalism was ruinous for Scotland

I wish I could claim credit but I can't, it's an old gag around from when the police got involved and had like a crime scene tent in front of their house.

Floisme · 12/08/2025 09:23

I'm looking forward to seeing her book in The Works, alongside 'Didley Squat: A Year on the Farm' by Jeremy Clarkson.

The nonsense that gender ideology forces people to come out with.

Has she no self respect?

LittleBitofBread · 12/08/2025 09:29

I mean, one almost admires the sheer brass neck.

Westfacing · 12/08/2025 09:30

Did I just hear on Times Radio that Sturgeon is planning to live in England? Oh, the irony!

Can I just say that I absolutely love the word “shite” and especially its use in this context ..

From my point of view

Forensic Medical Services (Victims of Sexual Offences) (Scotland) Bill
The Bill would mean health boards must provide forensic medical services. These services are for victims of sexual offences.
The Bill became an Act on 20 January 2021

Did not vote
Nicola Sturgeon

When one is debating the right of a woman who has been raped one has reached a turning point in womens rights.

When the debate is if that raped woman can trust that her rights wil be vindicated in law one has reached a turning point in womens rights.

When the debate is about enacting a law to assist in the conviction of her rapist and if such a law can allow another sexual assault on her person one has reached a turning point in womens rights.

When the debate when one is debating the right of a woman who has been raped and are deciding if her rights (including not to be sexually assaulted again) should be subjugated to the whim of an employee (male or female ) one has not just reached a turning point in womens rights, one has reached a MASSIVE IMPASSE WHICH DEMONSTRATES A CONFLICT OF RIGHTS THAT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS FROM OUTER SPACE.

In her memoir Frankly, the former first minister claims the Harry Potter writer wearing a T-shirt branding her a “destroyer of women’s rights” was a turning point in which “rational debate” on the trans issue became “impossible” and “any hope of finding common ground disappeared”.

Rowling posted a selfie on X on October 6, 2022 in a black T-shirt attacking Sturgeon. The politician’s name was presented as a dictionary entry with the definition underneath “destroyer of women’s rights”.

She goes on to claim that there are “few issues” more important to her than protecting and advancing women’s rights, “so to hear myself described as a destroyer of them wounds me deeply.”

But it was JKR's T-shirt which removed any hope of finding common ground.....

PS Look I have a way to get people talking about my book.

It wasn't Sturgeon's policy that was the problem.
It was JKRowling's T-shirt.

deadpan · 12/08/2025 09:37

I wish I had the courage to call a rapist female
The arrogance that's needed to say that never mind effectively write it in a book is astonishing. In one fell swoop she dismisses the distress and violation that anyone - women, girls, boys and men - who's been the victim of sexual assault and/or rape.
But I'm sure she won't be pulled up on it by any journalist.

Taytoface · 12/08/2025 09:39

She really is something. Nothing is her fault. It is JKR, it was the prison service, it was right wingers, it was misogynists, it was Alex Salmon.

I was right, just everyone else was so short sighted.

She wishes she was brave enough to call a rapist a woman. Fuck me.

As a poster above says, I can't wait to see her choking down kangaroo testicles before she disappears into obscurity, being nothing more than a footnote in history.

TheKeatingFive · 12/08/2025 09:42

I still cannot understand why she hitched herself to the trans debacle so strongly and refused to let go.

I keep wondering, did somebody, somewhere promise her big rewards to do so?

NotMyRealAccount · 12/08/2025 09:42

The leading politician in a developed nations felt ... let me check ... unsafe because a woman who writes novels disagreed with her in public? How very dignified and stateswomanlike. And I have my doubts, since Ms Sturgeon was the one on the same side of the debate as those who like to hurl threats of rape and mutilation at anyone who doesn't fall in line with their ideology.

crumpet · 12/08/2025 09:45

She was interviewed this morning on the Today programme and totally reverted to her original stance of most marginalised/toxic debate/stand with the community

WinterTrees · 12/08/2025 09:18

Absolutely this. 100%
JKR allowed there to be a democratic discussion in public, as there always should have been, by breaking her own cover of reality based thinking, publicly. Which is very brave of her and only she could do it. And thank fuck she did.

Sskka · 12/08/2025 09:48

I’m flabbergasted at the tone she uses in all of these extracts, from gender to the referendum. Creating or ramping up some struggle through choice, and then whining about the fact that she—she!—felt under strain or unsafe as a result.

One gets used to it from online activists, but to see it from an actual adult professional politician is beyond belief. What an embarrassment.

SerafinasGoose · 12/08/2025 09:50

TRAs always manage to shoehorn rape into it somehow. It’s very noticeable.

It says a great deal about them and their true motives. They’ve shown women who they really are. And we believe them.

Aaron95 · 12/08/2025 09:50

She is right that the debate has become toxic and emotive on both sides. And many of the "fuck off" responses above have just proved the point.

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 12/08/2025 09:51

TheKeatingFive · 12/08/2025 09:42

I’ve always wondered if this was the case. It was the only reasonable explanation I could think of.

I was going to make a long post but I just can’t be arsed. I’m glad she’s out of power and unless and until the real reason she persisted with this self ID lunacy comes out I don’t want to think about her.

Her FWR alter ego on the other hand makes me very happy.

PestoHoliday · 12/08/2025 09:51

SHE felt unsafe? STURGEON??

What about the women incarcerated with the double rapist thanks to you, Nicola, you self-regarding narcissist? Don't you think they might have had at a smidge more reason to feel unsafe, you absolutely twonk?
