Montgomery Toms has been arrested for wearing a sign showing the pink & blue stripes of trans=mental illness.

Arrested. What has happened to free speech in this country?

Right.

Whereas a sign saying Death to TERFS is just a jolly old jape and all those silly women shouldn't be so oversensitive.

That double standard is being studiously avoided by various posters on this thread.

If it’s not a mental illness then why does it (or “gender dysphoria”, to be more accurate) feature in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition?

Because when transpeople are able to live as their authentic selves they are no longer dysphoric. The dysphoria is the illness - not the being trans part. Most people suffering dysphoria will be living as the gender aligned to their sex (i.e. not trans).

They always do. Same every thread they turn up on.

Isn’t it just!!

it would seem it’s fine for those on the RSOH to carry placards threatening violence, rape and death

This is a good point. Why are women so dismissed when violence is expressed?

Because many men and TRAs view us as being expendable.

Well sure but if you’re up for supporting a terrorist organisation right now you might see what happens. Up to you on how far you want to take it.

Speaking out against foreign entities deliberately targeting children and practicing every possible genocide to exist isn’t against the law.

Do you have any evidence that supports this? Anecdotally, in my (limited to two people) experience, it doesn't seem to work that way, and I've seen studies that suggest that suicidality increases after transition.

ChessorBuckaroo · 05/07/2025 20:16

The only coverage is by that fat fingered mess holding the phone.

Yes you can do that but you can’t support proscribed terrorist organisations online or offline and that includes PA. So if you try there may be repercussions.

Pride is meant to celebrate gay and lesbian people-same sex attracted people.

The notion of trans people just doesn't fit in when advocating for gay/lesbians.

The only way to protect gay/lesbian youths is to shield them from transgender ideology

The Pride organisation is about understanding fact that all of these groups have faced discrimination, marginalisation, and criminalisation.
They supported the miners in the miners strike in the 80’s. See definition below
” Pride is about standing together against prejudice — homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, etc.
• The struggles of one group often overlap with others. Excluding anyone weakens the movement.”

Sarah2891 · 05/07/2025 20:22

He shouldn't have been arrested, but the sign should have been removed.

ChessorBuckaroo · 05/07/2025 20:23

OP, you wouldn't be the one holding the phone by any chance?

I smell a rat, a fat one.

Except women of course. Centuries of oppression across the world but Pride isn’t interested in those sorts of women, the boring biological kind, pride only cares about the shiny new kind of women with prostates

Norma27 · 05/07/2025 20:24

Let’s be clear. Hamas are responsible for multiple deaths, rapes and torture from 07/10/23 onwards.
They are to blame.

How does one live as their "authentic self"? Having lots of surgeries, synthetic hormones and going to lessons to learn how to behave as the opposite is living authentically?

Can you tell me what causes gender dysphoria?

I think that is encouraging trouble at a pride event. Unnecessarily provocative.

Agreed
It's crass

Oh damn, are we not proper woman these days unless we've got a prostate?

Any idea where I can buy one? They were all out at Tesco earlier. Wouldn't mind being a shiny new woman either rather than the increasingly clapped out one that seems to be inhabiting me🤦.

He shouldn't have been arrested, but the sign should have been removed.

He was probably asked to remove the sign or (in more polite words) to fuck off, and did not comply. Then OP got her phone out and quoted Animal bleedin Farm.

He will in all likelihood be held until the pride march is over and then told to go home and stop being a weapon.

We have knuckledragging scum amongst us. We saw it last summer when they used the deaths of those three girls to release their vitriol.

mariasanp · 05/07/2025 19:40

Norma can have her say too.

By the way- you might hate this- but I actually have powers of arrest- ha ha wrong person sorry!

That all sounds very nice in theory. However when as a homosexual woman, you see posters like this for Pride month? It doesn't sound like it's for you any more.

I agree. Looking for trouble.

Datun · 05/07/2025 20:33

Oh ffs, it doesn't matter if he's being provocative or difficult, or cruel, or nasty, or entirely accurate, or completely wrong, it's not an arrestable offence.

Women say it on here all the time.

It's not an offence, so why are they arresting him?

And of course it's double standards. 'Decapitate terfs'??

Possibly because the police want to show how right on they are!
