Love the additional video of her a few posts down on that thread interviewing ‘Heather’

She was very good at highlighting the contradictory claims. 'It's an attack on trans people' but also 'won't make any difference'.

SabrinaThwaite · 22/06/2025 09:38

Her X account is protected, so I guess there’s an on-going pile on.

Her interview with Herbert was a thing of beauty.

catlovingdoctor · 22/06/2025 09:39

Good!!

HelenCurlyBrown · 22/06/2025 09:41

Martine is a star. I’ve long been an admirer of her.

outofdate · 22/06/2025 09:44

Love Martine!

teawamutu · 22/06/2025 09:44

That eye roll was <chef's kiss>

IllustratedDictionaryOfTheDoldrums · 22/06/2025 09:45

Oh that's wonderful. Good for her!

LlynTegid · 22/06/2025 09:45

Every correction such as this is good.

ItsCoolForCats · 22/06/2025 09:47

I remember her from the Heather Herbert interview. That was glorious 🤣 He was expecting to get lots of sympathy and to be able to trot out his most marginalised people...Trump...blah blah blah...lines with no challenge and she was having none of it.

ItsCoolForCats · 22/06/2025 09:48

I hope she isn't sanctioned though.

PostmanSplat · 22/06/2025 09:48

That was beautiful

Brainworm · 22/06/2025 09:50

Dear Lord. I hadn’t seen that interview with Heather Herbert before……”If I can’t use women’s loos I can’t go to work”. It’s wilful blindness not to see that all the females she works with have had to be without women’s loos for the entire time she’s been their colleague. Of those for whom this was a problem, how far does she think they’d get in saying they can’t go in to work for this reason?!

YESSS! What a sassy blonde! Just hope this doesn't affect her career, as I know how upset some people get when people say stuff like this.

Brainworm · 22/06/2025 09:57

Throwing this out there to get poster’s thoughts….The interview with Heather was great, because Martine critiqued the arguments put forward and challenged where there was a lack of coherence between the different claims being made. I expect those on the TRA side of things regarded the interview as hostile.

I regarded the questioning of Baroness Faulkner by the WEC to be hostile. The context of multiple people versus one might have contributed to how inappropriate it seemed, but I’d think there was more to it than just this.

What thoughts do people have about the differences that makes Martinez’s approach with Heather different to the questions by the WEC?

DialSquare · 22/06/2025 10:02

That eye roll expressed the opinion of many, many women up and down the country.

I know right. Why are the rights and wishes and desires of women always shat all over?

Not impressed by 'the aged' for people over 65 either. Whoever wrote that autocue script sounds like they're probably very young and irritating.

What's wrong with it?

MelodyMalone · 22/06/2025 10:09

Waitwhat23 · 22/06/2025 09:24

Wow 😂 don't think I've ever seen anyone tie themselves up in knots to quite that extent!

Beautifully handled by Martine, and I don't think "Heather" would be rushing to any more interviews after that.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 22/06/2025 08:57

Yes she did deliberately correct it. Here is the original quote by Dr Mistry as referenced in the clip. He refers to pregnant people, she changes it to pregnant women

Dr Malcolm Mistry, at LSHTM, said: “Exposure to temperatures in the high 20s or low 30s may not seem dangerous, but they can be fatal, particularly for people aged over 65, infants, pregnant people, and those with pre-existing health conditions.”

Well done to her. What utter nonsense that Mistry (I don’t really want to refer to him as a doctor as he has undermined all credibility with that statement). A news Shero!

tothesea · 22/06/2025 10:20

Joyous eye roll. Good for you Martine!

tsmainsqueeze · 22/06/2025 10:24

Yeah !!!!!!!! good on her !

"PREGNANT PEOPLE"
😂😂😂

I had never heard this expression but I've heard it all now 😂

RebelMoon · 22/06/2025 10:31

Love it...stealth TERF.

Topseyt123 · 22/06/2025 10:31

Good for her! 😃 The phrase "pregnant people" drives me mad. As does "we are pregnant" when uttered by a man about his pregnant female partner.

WOMEN get pregnant. Men do not. Only one person in a couple will be pregnant. It won't be a man!
