More details re the Darlington nurses. I don’t know what to say. This is outrageous. Just fucking outrageous.

that is a hard read but so fucking important to share

Karen is so brave

just when I thought I couldn’t be any more shocked

I hope every other news outlet report on these facts because people need to open their eyes and see the shit for what it really is

TheKeatingFive · 11/05/2025 09:13

This is horrendous. Why the actual fuck is anyone justifying this? This is genuinely woman-hating behaviour 🤬

Helleofabore · 11/05/2025 09:14

I can only hope that a decision on Sandie Peggie’s case might be handed down before the Darlington case starts and that the Darlington Trust changes their policy, apologises and settles. That way those nurses don’t have to go through the stress of the tribunal.

There is no way the NHS is coming out of these cases with a reputation for caring about all their staff and patient’s wellbeing. Only a select few.

All thanks to Stonewall and those like Stonewall who directly influenced policy.

See, that's a far worse scenario than I'd imagined.

If this is genuinely all NHS policy then we are in a very dark place, and I'm not sure how we get out.

Genuinely, every policy we have seen. All of Scotland, all of London, all of the Midlands, looking like all of East of England.

Every. Single. One.

One of the similarities with the Fife case is the appalling management - irrespective of the issues involved.

Just the existence of the legal dispute should have prevented Rose from being involved with Karen’s healthcare.

This all over - I work in a senior NHS role and removing all else from this case, a legal dispute for any reason is a conflict of interest and I absolutely would not have allowed rose to assist at Karen’s surgery, that’s appalling management. The fact rose would even want to is also concerning as it looks like another power play when Karen is at her most vulnerable. Nothing but support for these nurses, they are remarkably brave.

Langdale3 · 11/05/2025 09:17

The treatment of the nurses is absolutely disgusting. My heart goes out to Karen. Well done to them all for speaking out and taking this action. But it should not be necessary. It shows the baked in misogyny in the NHS.

I think the only way out will be slowly dragging ourselves, one court case at a time. Anyone who is too scared to complain or can't afford to sue will be collateral damage. The law is clear, but the NHS will not comply until they are overwhelmed by the weight of lost court cases and fines.

ProfessorFellatioHornblower · 11/05/2025 09:18

We've all seen that smirk, haven't we?

Karen has been unbelievably brave here.

Conxis · 11/05/2025 09:18

From what I've read this morning I think there should be an enquiry into the HR department at Darlington. That sounds to me like deliberate abuse of an abuse survivor.
That's not just 'capture', that's sadistic. It's on purpose.

I agree Arabella. They have deliberately re traumatised a staff member every time she goes to work.
Anything else aside, Karen should be due a large personal injuries payout from her employer.
That article is hard enough to read, I can’t begin to imagine how hard the lived experience is. Karen is a brave, brave woman

borntobequiet · 11/05/2025 08:53

This needs to be in every newspaper and all over the BBC. When you think you’ve heard the worst bits of any of these cases, something else is revealed that’s even worse.

I agree. Everyone should read this.

endofthelinefinally · 11/05/2025 09:18

The NHS has always ( IME) had a misogynistic, bullying culture. Gender ideology has provided another vehicle for this culture. I am so glad I am retired. This ideology was just becoming visible in my sphere of practice in 2016. I remember pondering the dangers and risks. It has been much worse than I ever thought possible.

wowwhataday · 11/05/2025 09:21

What is also unforgivable is these sort of situations have allowed walloper organisations like Christian Conern to get credibility and a foothold as all the other representatives (unions etc) capitulated so easily to gender shite.

Pinkrabbitt · 11/05/2025 09:21

Can you imagine those poor nurses being made to sit in a room and be "re-educated" by this man?

Mmmnotsure · 11/05/2025 09:21

I didn't think I had a problem with reading comprehension, until I realised from the posts on here that the gynae operation - where the management was saying that Rose might be upset if not allowed to attend - was Karen's own op!

My brain must have blanked that, because it is so outrageous.

Datun · 11/05/2025 09:22

Pinkrabbitt · 11/05/2025 09:21

Can you imagine those poor nurses being made to sit in a room and be "re-educated" by this man?

And they said something like Rose would be willing to do it. I bet he fucking would. That means he was asked. Or he offered.

Why can't these people see what they're looking at? Where are these blinkers from??

Arran2024 · 11/05/2025 09:23

We have single sex spaces partly because we know that there are women like Karen out there, trying to live their lives. They need the scaffolding of women only facilities more than anyone and they should not have to out themselves to make a nhs trust listen to them.

My adult daughters are adopted and incredibly hypervigilant and anxious in public. One of them basically doesn't use public toilets unless absolutely necessary. Tras accuse us of "weaponising" her trauma and go on about the alleged risks that trans women will suffer if they go into the gents.

But there's a trans woman on X who takes pics of herself standing next to urinals - says there's never been a problem, agrees it's unreasonable to use the ladies.

Tras don't listen. It's all about what they want.

storminabuttercup · 11/05/2025 09:26

id also missed the part that he was living with a female partner and trying for a baby

That man taking pics announced he had reached 1000 pics using the male toilets with no incident.

She’s so brave to share this! I’m disgusted by how our trust have dealt with this as are the majority of the workforce, this needs to be brought into mainstream media and those who have acted wrongly, the line manager, HR, the union need to be held accountable!

I immediately thought that I hoped the wife had some support because this could be, probably will be, one horrific court case for her.

borntobequiet · 11/05/2025 09:30

I look forward to the wider exposure of the disgraceful behaviour of the unions who have actively chosen not to support their female members in cases where women have been thrown under the bus of transgenderism.
UCU, Unison, RCN and so on.

He's just a pervert who found a way to watch women change, while being cheered on by his bosses.

Nothing more complicated than that.

And he gets to indecently expose himself to women, with impunity.

Not just 'chosen not to support'.

They've publically attacked and vilified them.

Jo Grady publishes a photo on X of a protest including a flag that says 'the only good terf is a ---- terf' with a picture of a gallows on it.

These nurses are who they mean.
