More details re the Darlington nurses. I don’t know what to say. This is outrageous. Just fucking outrageous.

I thought I was beyond being shocked and then I read this.

Dutchesss · 11/05/2025 07:57

I cried reading that. How can this have been let happen? So many people let this happen. Karen deserves better, but the damage is already done.

CarefulN0w · 11/05/2025 07:59

TheaBrandt1 · 11/05/2025 07:55

Found it moving the way the work colleagues are stepping up to support this lady. Wonder if they would have taken it this far if their colleague wasn’t so badly affected? They may have hated it but stoically put up with it which is the easier option in the current climate.

Completely agree and I’m so glad that Karen has their support. If we, who don’t know Karen and Rose, are angry, I can only imagine how unbelievably, stratospherically angry these women must be about the treatment of their colleague.

TheKhakiQuail · 11/05/2025 08:00

Even if there was absolutely no other factors involved, how can you put a doctor or nurse in the operating theatre involved in surgery on a patient they are in a legal dispute with. Surely, it is a very clear conflict of interest, and risk to all involved.

Oldfashioneddinosaur · 11/05/2025 08:01

This is so unbelievably fucked up. I'm not often shocked any more, but I feel sick that they wouldn't take him off her surgery.

TimeForATerf · 11/05/2025 08:01

Bloody hell, I’ve just cried after reading this and I can be a hard faced cow.

How the fuck have employers been able to get away with this. I hope this tribunal goes as far as it can and the trust is suitably punished and humiliated and these lovely ladies, get compensation. Poor, poor Karen.

No wonder they were so pissed off when it was delayed again.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 11/05/2025 08:03

Fucking hell!!! As ever I’m boggled that supposedly intelligent people’s brains and compassion desert them in these scenarios

i wonder if our resident TRAs will be along to defend this or will they ignore this thread like the plague like they do with every other thread which demonstrates so clearly why women need single sex spaces

Merrymouse · 11/05/2025 08:03

This case is a very concrete illustration of why the SC decided as they did.

What Is the difference between Rose and any other man, and what prevents Rose from obtaining a GRC?

Merrilydancing · 11/05/2025 08:04

That was a difficult read and I am so angry for Karen having been put in this position.

I hope the trust finally sees sense and does the morally right thing.

I do think that a lot of organisations are quickly becoming aware of these legal cases and will change as the law is now very clear.

Waitwhat23 · 11/05/2025 08:05

“Well, Rose is a woman so Rose has a right to be there”.

A right to be there. What the actual fuck.

Ohyoudodoyou · 11/05/2025 08:05

Thanks to Karen for being so courageous and to the colleagues fighting this fight with her. We know from years of being on this forum and watching this ideology unfold, that ‘Rose’ would have been one of many such men barging into such safe spaces. Just where would this have ended if women didn’t speak up? What will women’s spaces look like in 5,10,20 years time, full of lots of narcissistic’Roses’ unapologetically and delightedly going anywhere they want unchallenged. It mentions ‘Rose’ has a partner and that they were looking to start a family. That woman could well be on here one day talking about how her teen daughter has just said how she was in a changing room and 6 men dressed as women were in there with her. For we know it wouldn’t have stopped at one ‘Rose’.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 11/05/2025 08:08

Just crying reading that…

Abused by her father, abused by the NHS.

Disgusting, do your job Wes.

Not a lot, apart from a new name and long hair.

I personally don't believe a man can become a woman, even with full surgery, but it particularly disgusts me that a bloke can call himself a different name and have long hair claim to be a woman🤬.

Hermiaxx · 11/05/2025 08:08

Just when I thought the this dystopian madness couldn’t get any worse! WTF!!

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 11/05/2025 08:08

I cried reading it too. But I’m also SO beyond angry.

I have been reading NHS policy after NHS policy as part of our audit, and I hate to tell you all this, but in every single trust, everything that happened to the Darlington nurses would not only be possible, but obligatory.

And it wasn’t the fault of one rogue person in Darlington (or Fife, or whatever trust Jennifer Melle is at) HR, nor one person in management, nor even one small team of people that decided these policies. It is BUILT IN to every single NHS trust policy.

It is a parasite.

Xenia · 11/05/2025 08:08

This is the problem with some (not all) trans people who are biologically male - they are so male (the opposite of how they want to appear) they want confrontation, they want trouble, they want to be the one who fights the trans cause by upsetting a nurse like this. Some of them use their presentation as women as a form of sexual encounter or fetish too.

I hope Darlington does the right thing and let the trans nurse change in a separate mixed sex disabled toilet or something like that as that seems the sensible option. I am glad the abused nurse's lawyers were able to get the trust to back down so that the trans person was not on duty in the intimate operation of this poor lady.

It is very simple - women mostly don't want someone with a p enis in the areas where we change.

Kinsters · 11/05/2025 08:10

That's so awful, every part of it. The only good thing is the care, compassion and courage of all the nurses involved. How utterly shameful of the NHS, the government and men in general. It's beyond time to get their act together.

Sprinklesandsprinkles · 11/05/2025 08:11

This is horrendous, poor lady

wrongthinker · 11/05/2025 08:11

Jesus that is one of the worst things I've ever read. Just utterly disgusting institutional abuse of women, all to support a creepy pervert man.

Karen is incredibly brave.

ILoveMyCaravan · 11/05/2025 08:11

What about the patients this “Rose” is treating ffs! I’m also a victim of childhood sexual abuse, I would NOT want “Rose” anywhere near me!!

Kinsters · 11/05/2025 08:11

I wonder whether any other news outlets will pick this up.

SnakesAndArrows · 11/05/2025 08:12

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 11/05/2025 07:24

What the actual fucking fuck.

My thoughts exactly. Speechless, to be honest.

SparklyGlitterballs · 11/05/2025 08:14

Pretty disgusting that there's a woman out there who is in a relationship with this vile person and is trying to get pregnant by him. Her bar must be on the floor...or down in the basement!

Theeyeballsinthesky · 11/05/2025 08:15

Kinsters · 11/05/2025 08:11

Me too!

im impressed really fucking annoyed that Shaun Lintern the Sunday times health correspondent who is usually all over anything and everything NHS related has studiously ignored both this story and that of Sandy Peggie

“Well, Rose is a woman so Rose has a right to be there”.

Yes. Amidst all the other horrific stuff, that comment is almost the most shocking. Irrespective of one’s opinion on whether TWAW (they aren’t), the very fact of there being an ongoing tribunal case creates a huge fucking massive conflict of interest that should have made it obvious that ‘Rose’ should not be participating in an operation on Karen. ‘Rose’ has a right not to be discriminated against in work place on the grounds of his sex and his gender reassignment. That is entirely different from having the ‘right’ to access his colleagues genitals against her wishes. Can they not hear themselves?
