The Mail reporting is clearer...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14392643/Transgender-woman-court-rape-girl-sexually-assault-boy.html

Transgender woman Maddison Wilson, 37, is accused of abusing the young girl 'with your penis' in 2011, according to the charge sheet.

Wilson is also accused of sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 13 around six years later.

The alleged sex offender spoke only to confirm their preferred pronouns of 'she/her' in the dock at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

So rare you see the headline "Rich, white, Christian pedophile...."....

Well no, because there they can so often simplify it to 'bishop' - there's another one recently.

Ex-bishop admits historical indecent assaults on boy www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce85pr119r8o

They tend to get discussed on the Religion and Philosophy board. Yes, id complain if I saw reports about this man which misrepresented his 'faith, or their socio-economic status, or their profession?' but I don't think I've ever seen that happen.

His brother said they had serious mental health issues. I feel so sorry for their victim. I’m sure people like India W will claim that ‘he was never transgender’ just pretending to be like I just saw them claim on their X account about Scots transgender paedophile Andrew Miller - who apparently had ‘no history’ of being trans and ‘never transitioned’ - unbelievable 😡

Well being revisionist historians is their usp.

I hope this doesn't derail the thread (though it is relevant) but cam anyone point me in the direction of a blog article by Glinner from a while back?
If I recall, it was a long list of links to news articles of the "this doesn't happen" variety. Lots of cases of 'transgender women' transitioning at almost exactly the time of their court cases for rape.
I'm searching for it on his substack but I can't find it. It's from quite a while ago.

Merrymouse · 26/02/2025 18:58

Justice will be sought regardless of whether you deny someone their human right to identity

There is no human right to claim a particular identity.

There is a limited right to privacy.

Sorry, answering myself.
Found it.

Worth a read if you haven't.

Not a lecture, not telling you how to feel, just my point of view. But nice of you to try and invalidate my opinion.

Just pointing out the fact that this story has only made the headlines because it's a trans women and you've fallen for the patriarchal dog-whistles of vilifying a whole section of society based on an individual instead of addressing the systematic issues.

Do carry on, please.

Everything you say adds wonderfully to the famous radicalisation effect of Mumsnet.

murasaki · 26/02/2025 19:27

A man unironically using the word patriarchal while mansplaining is amusing. If an over done trope.

Well if India was to say that wouldn’t it be transphobic? Isn’t it “acceptance without exception” according to the TRAs?

Anyone getting Deja Vu ‘joke’ vibes?

Yes !!
I’d better be careful though; or I may be deleted

NeverOneBiscuit · 22/01/2026 21:56

Who’d have thought that a pink hair band could cast a magic spell over journalists, language and the courts?

It’s beyond words, these disgusting men twisting everything around them for their own sick desires.

lcakethereforeIam · 22/01/2026 22:52

This, in the BBC article, is imo completely irrelevant and unnecessary

The witness said he did not believe the criminal allegations against her, because she had herself been "molested" as a child.

Victims don't need to have the nation's broadcaster calling them liars. There was no need for the BBC to publish that quote.

If the reassignment surgery he underwent in November 2024 entailed removal of his genitals, he obviously had a lot going on. Any one alone might have driven a man to suicide. He was perhaps not the best candidate for such radical, life changing surgery at that time.

But it would have been horribly evil and mean not to give him what he wanted wouldn’t it?

lcakethereforeIam · 22/01/2026 22:59

He got what he said he wanted. There's a Ben Cooper quote for occasions like this.

It would be unkind of me to ask what the quotation is....

Taytoface · 22/01/2026 23:32

So what will it take? How many cases? What level of data? What degree of harm needs to be inflicted before the trans lobby admit that the widening of the LGBTQ umbrella has brought in and given shelter to some of the worst abusers in society. This total denial makes it ever harder to maintain sympathy for those people with a trans identity who just want to live their lives in peace. They need to start calling this out, so we can talk about the clear risks and start being able to manage them properly instead of having to pretend these clearly deviant men are just lovely ladies.

I agree. He’s dead. There can’t be a trial now. It doesn’t serve anything to cast doubt on the victims. There are children in different parts of the country allegedly hurt by this man. “Brother doesn’t accept accusations about family member” - hardly unusual.

silverwrath · 23/01/2026 03:16

Sex offenders are basically gaslighting their victims by claiming they're trans.

And they're enabled by the establishment and institutions including the media and judiciary etc.

The Daily Mail knows that creep is a man. They know he's at it when he claims he's anything other than male. But they still refer to him as a trans woman.

It makes me sick to my stomach.

Me too. And it’s so horribly damaging - not just to individuals (which, in this case, is so horrific) but to the wider social contract as well. The people we pay to protect us and our kids are not protecting us. The people we pay to determine and report the truth are lying to us. As long as our institutions are wedded to this deceitful, destructive ideology, the world is going to find itself walking into an ever-bigger mess. If populists like Trump get into power on a ticket that they ‘tell the truth’, it’s because every liberal/left party and every taxpayer-funded organisation has just given them a wide open goal by lying and apparently not caring about the consequences.

madamweb · 23/01/2026 07:29

I don't understand why the "pro trans " lobby arent up in arms about people misusing trans identification in this way. Surely they are horrified by it?

lcakethereforeIam · 23/01/2026 10:07

'Acceptance without exception' remember. Actually I agree with them on this, this unfortunate, monstrous man was as trans as anyone else who claims to be trans.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 23/01/2026 10:16

There will never be any sensible rationale from that quarter; their lives are being lived in an attempted alternative reality where any facts or words that jar it must be twisted around, denied, suppressed and if possible erased. An inability to deal with reality as too personally threatening is the starting point for everything.

The point of noting and commenting on it here is not to 'be mean to trans people' - for a start it's not 'people', it's exclusively men - but how very, very often sex offenders come from this group of men. And this is the group of men insisting they wish to be in women and girls' spaces. These articles demonstrate yet again why permitting it is an act of stupidity at Trumpian levels. And always, inevitably, along pops the 'ally' to demonstrate the 'you mustn't notice that bit of reality' issue that is playing a central role in such stupidity.

My only thought on reading that article was that I am absolutely sure those poor children and their entire families would have liked to have been able to flee in distress, but he didn't allow it, and the impact of him using them for his sexual enjoyment will affect them for the rest of their lives.

HeadyLamarr · 23/01/2026 10:21

On the plus side, he's spared his victims the trauma of cross examination and saved the public purse £££ in prison costs.

A case of the trash taking itself out.

That quote in the BBC article is unbelievable. They should be ashamed of themselves.

lifeturnsonadime · 23/01/2026 10:25

I can imagine this will be spun by activists as an example of trans people being the most vulnerable. He killed himself as a result of 'transphobic' attacks citing the smashed windows.

I note the BBC is referring to him as she/ her. No respect for his child victims.
