Transgender woman Maddison Wilson, 37, is accused of abusing the young girl 'with your penis' in 2011, according to the charge sheet.

Wilson is also accused of sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 13 around six years later.

The alleged sex offender spoke only to confirm their preferred pronouns of 'she/her' in the dock at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Unfortunately it means that the court case, his conviction etc are all listed under this female name.

I'm sure the journalist will be getting a load of flak on Twitter but I have to say, if I were working on one of these publications I would take great pleasure in printing stories exactly like that, using their ridiculous language rules as long as there was a photo attached. Nothing will peak the public harder and faster than exactly the way that story has been presented.

Read on and thought "oh, so I was right not to believe it!".

Agreed. Doesn’t stop the police and CPS from recording sex incorrectly though:

The official court charge sheet identifies Wilson as a female. But the wording of the rape charge says that Wilson allegedly attacked the girl 'with your penis'.

Is that the case? Or is it technically only rape can be carried out with a penis, and if a woman has a penis...

Is the law written in such a way that it doesn't explicitly say that only a male (as it could be a boy under 18) can rape and that if someone self-identifies as female it is possible that a female with a penis can rape?

Females don't have penises, I'm simply questioning the definition of the law.

And thinking further I don't think the law says that only males can rape, otherwise these men would be using the self-ID route to downgrade their rape charge to sexual assault.

How exactly does one identify as a woman whilst using one's penis to rape one?
