Transgender woman Maddison Wilson, 37, is accused of abusing the young girl 'with your penis' in 2011, according to the charge sheet.

Wilson is also accused of sexually assaulting a boy under the age of 13 around six years later.

The alleged sex offender spoke only to confirm their preferred pronouns of 'she/her' in the dock at Southampton Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Who said anything about roles? He cast himself in the role of 'rapist', a crime only men can commit.

It does matter. And I'm sure their gender identity can be recorded too for the nuance that's necessary in statistics.

As I'm sure those statistics will show that this dog-whistle rhetoric that frames all trans women as a threat to women and children is just that. Click-bait and sensationalism to sell news ad-space.

The fact that you're debating this case of rape and not the thousands of other rape cases shows that you care very deeply about this persons social identity as a trans woman. Likely so you can use it as ammo to bully and marginalise other trans women, who are innocent. Just as misogynists would use harmful stereotypes to marginalise others.

Just pointing out the fact that this story has only made the headlines because it's a trans women and you've fallen for the patriarchal dog-whistles of vilifying a whole section of society based on an individual instead of addressing the systematic issues.

I've just checked the Evening Standard website. Limited to the London area. Six live reports of perpetrators sought and court cases involving violent and/or sexual crimes. All involving men.

Such crimes are covered heavily by the media.

When the perpetrator is male and is described and referred to as a 'woman' and 'she', we notice and we object.

It matters, as the crimes of trans women are often recorded as female crimes. I also don't believe it is healthy or safe for society to validate paraphillic role play, which 'gender recognition' allows for.

Are you fucking serious? How about the fact that they get put into women's prisons, where they can prey on a capitve population of women, while havign a much easier time of it than they would if they went to a men's prison? That's a pretty big benefit, right there.
