Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

Well I didn't have this line of questioning on my bingo card

Chrysanthemum5 · 10/02/2025 11:21

JR has a cheek complaining about whether something is relevant after her questions last week which were all about random American articles

Taytoface · 10/02/2025 11:22

Didn't love the Levis diversion

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 10/02/2025 11:22

A non-sequitur:

The Young Gentleman is what Oliver Cromwell called Charles II.

Halsall · 10/02/2025 11:22

I thought we were going to get a 'she is a popular beat combo, m'lud' moment there 😂

ArabellaScott · 10/02/2025 11:22

NC: It's right that women in general feel taboos more strongly?
BU: No. If you've ever got ready with a group of women, you'd see that it depends. Now talking about urinals. Not gendered, specific to people in situation.

seXX · 10/02/2025 11:22

Sharing his experience of using urinals!

Peregrina · 10/02/2025 11:22

I wish she had picked up on the "I'm not male" statement.

It made me recall a teacher of mine, who when someone made an outlandish statement answered with a withering "On what basis do you make that assumption?" It soon shut people up, unless they really had a good reason for their assumption.

eatfigs · 10/02/2025 11:22

He's supposely not male, but has used urinals.

Chrysanthemum5 · 10/02/2025 11:22

And DrU sharing the same old TRA fantasy that women getting ready together are walking around almost naked

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 10/02/2025 11:22

I think NC is drawing out successfully that DU doesn’t have a scooby about how women actually feel about him being in the CR. He is so wrapped up in his own entitlement he assumes that anyone who objects is the problem.

Boiledbeetle · 10/02/2025 11:22

He's now explaining how things work in the gents loos.

How would be know so well in so much detail? He's a woman apparently

ghostofadog · 10/02/2025 11:22

He's not male but he knows a lot about how men behave in urinals!

PoshCoffee · 10/02/2025 11:23

He’s just described a situation in a men’s toilet. Surely the next question would be “and how would you know?”

ILikeDungs · 10/02/2025 11:23

If this were not so maddening it would be funny. Man mansplaining womanhood

EasternStandard · 10/02/2025 11:23

'As a woman'

Can we just end all this stop appropriating a sex that is not yours

BettyBooper · 10/02/2025 11:23

DU - [talking about his experience of using urinals] this experience is not gendered
NC - Do you agree that women have modesty forced upon them
DU - yes I feel this as a women, social pressures [paraphrasing massively]

ArabellaScott · 10/02/2025 11:23

NC: Women tend to have taboos about modesty enforced against them, from victim blaming all through to correcitve rape

BU: As a woman, I feel -[sorry, rage overcame me and I missed a bit - AS] we're all the product of our environment.

Boiledbeetle · 10/02/2025 11:23

He's constantly bringing it back to the fact he falls into the woman part of society.

Taytoface · 10/02/2025 11:23

You have only been 'wimming' for five fucking minutes. How the fuck are you the product of your environment

ickky · 10/02/2025 11:23

He is a product of his environment.

Shortshriftandlethal · 10/02/2025 11:23

chilling19 · 10/02/2025 11:21

Insufferable.

Also why is JSPR jumping in so much - is that allowed?

I think it should be encouraged.....this whole thing would be over far more quickly 😂

CriticalCondition · 10/02/2025 11:23

BU mansplaining how a group of women behave when getting ready together.

Jesus.

CheekySnake · 10/02/2025 11:24

Upton is very sure that he's very clever.

themostspecialelfintheworkshop · 10/02/2025 11:24

I'm giving NC the benefit of the doubt here that she's leading up to something but I feel there are a lot more killer questions on this thread.
