NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #8

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

Imagine dealing with a complaint from Upton in a workplace environment. I'd run a mile from being his line manager.

NC - the reson for exclusion of trans identifying men from women's spaces, simply that transwomen are men. Men have to be kept out of women spaces, or they're not women only spaces.

BU - TW aren't men. They are women in a women only space.

They cannot answers questions directly. They both have to elaborate on theory every time they answer question.

Problem is that NC has to show his awareness of why his presence might be so uncomfortable for SP - and he is evading that through recourse to gender identity theory.

DU transwomen aren't men!

My gosh listening to this is torture. Honestly I'm in disbelief that we're having to ask these questions in 2025 and we can't get straight answers. DU waffling on about how trans women are not men so women only spaces remain just that when a trans woman (who is a woman!) is present in one. Diabolical man.

'Weird incident - nurse SP walkedinto CR while I was changing, looked taken aback, I said Hey, she said hi, and walked out'

When BU walked out, SP then went in.

She and another nurse had conversation, Disapointed as she chose to ... sad face emoji' [sound bad]
