NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #8

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

Ah, he did. And then obviously had an idea that he had to support "his people" and started to refer to Pete the Plumber as she!! "She might feel vulnerable, Pete might feel it's more appropriate for her to use F Changing rooms . . ."

Please please please get on to everyone else's dignity and safety because DU really can't see other people are actually human and have an existence beyond being a prop in his fantasy, quite clearly.

I'm hoping there's a few 'Petes' in the NHS who might id as women and enter the women's changing rooms now (letting the biological females know first).

You go to work as Pete the Plumber, get asked to fix the tap in the female changing rooms and by lunchtime you've become Petra. Hazardous work is plumbing!

This is dynamite. Before I got back and skim through to check, does anyone know offhand whether TT noted the looooong silence when NC asked if Pete the transwoman should be allowed in the changing room? 🤣

I know it's all hypothetical but it's also not. I feel upset and angry. I do not want Pete or Beth in my changing rooms. I feel violated just listening to this. Poor, poor Sandie.

I do feel for DrU’s wife. Did she know at the time of her marriage that she would end up in a same sex marriage? I’ve only dipped in and out of the trans widow threads, but enough to know that she must be in a very difficult position.

I thought they said someone was sketchy, I assumed they were talking about Upton.

It has been instrumental to see how burly bloke Pete has become vulnerable and oppressed just by hypothetically uttering the magic words...

This is genuinely fascinating. I'm trying to do stuff around the house while reading this all! I'm somewhat in love with NC.

Someone who is trapped behind a self created facade - and with suggestions of significant mental/sexual disturbance beneath.

Which is why a man dressed in 'women's clothing' in the women's toilet may well produce even more feelings of discomfort than if a man ( like Pete) accidentally walked in, but then apologised.

He's really up there with the best of them isn't he?
