NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #8

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

DrU if this was a real person then I think this would lead to a lot of difficult questions (the a load of guff about society, gender expression, sad TWs etc)

He doesn't understand, does he, that the difference between him and Pete is tiny compared to that between him and Sandie.

Ah bless PeteThePlumber - he would trigger a wider discussion in society about gender identity and transphobia. Musing, musing....

They're not unaware, they just think their wants override the majority of the population's needs. They're bullies in other words.

Circling back to the 'plumber in the CR' thing, the difference is that a male who goes in there to fix something will knock on the door before announcing his presence and probably also put up a sign outside saying workmen present or similar.

And said plumber would not start to change his clothes.
