NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #8

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 February 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks. The hearing commenced with Sandie Peggie giving evidence. Dr Beth Upton started giving evidence on Thursday 6 February.

JR just shot herself in the foot didn't she? Why would a transman be in the female changing room?

Given that the prior judgement established that he can referred to by male pronouns, I reckon that means it established that he is male, and therefore all this 'as a woman' and 'I'm female' stuff is already against the court's position.

NC - we can say it's well known that Pete is male, he's been open about his low sperm count. Just setting the scene. Pete is a man, not a woman taking testostyerone. What you would call a cisman.

JR's question I think was a mistake. Transmen are allowed in the women's (rightly), transwomen are allowed in according to her so basically everyone's allowed in and it's just mixed sex not a 'woman's' changing room.
