NHS Fife tries to silence nurse - Sandie Peggie vs NHS Fife Health Board and Dr Beth Upton - thread #3

Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

As a mum if my daughter told me what had happened i would definitely say i will make him a woman and rip his bits of…… does not mean i would its just an angry supportive response.

Thanks for these threads, I’m following with interest. Increasingly frustrated by all this raking over SP, her behaviour, her family life, what she said or didn’t say. It’s irrelevant.

Women need single-sex spaces for reasons of safety, dignity and privacy. People with gender identities that mismatch their sex should be offered a discreet third space if they don’t want to use the one assigned to them based on their biology. It’s not difficult.

Whether or not SP was scared of BU, is all by the by. The heart of the matter is that women need single-sex spaces, no ifs or buts. SP was forced to change with someone who is not biologically female and was punished for daring to raise objections. That is as Orwellian as it gets. Women are people, not gender validation props.
