Sandie Peggie, a nurse at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy (VH), has brought claims in the employment tribunal against her employer; Fife Health Board (the Board) and another employee, Dr B Upton. Ms Peggie’s claims are of sexual harassment, harassment related to a protected belief, indirect discrimination and victimisation. Dr Upton claims to be a transwoman, that is observed as male at birth but asserting a female gender identity.

The Employment Tribunal hearing started on Monday 3 January 2025 and is expected to continue for 2 weeks.

Access to view the hearing remotely can be obtained by sending an email request to [email protected] headed Public Access Request (Peggie v Fife Health Board) 4104864/2024 and requesting access.

Why is this remotely relevant to his wife?

Well women aren’t relevant except in connection to men. Obviously.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 05/02/2025 15:38

Short and sweet.

I think it's a:

How Unlike the Home Life of Our Own Dear Queen

thing.

Well she did live with a bit of a racist 🤣

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 15:39

NC asks if he authored any of the posts, he replies no.

He's finished now

Touche!

chilling19 · 05/02/2025 15:39

God, you couldn't make this tribunal up.

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 15:40

Sounds off

HarpQuartet · 05/02/2025 15:40

No idea how that is going to feed into anything, except for the bit where he corroborated that his wife was having a horrible time at work.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/02/2025 15:40

I'm not sure what evidence he can give on her behalf

To back up her account of being upset. I thought he did that ok.

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 15:40

No idea who is up now

nauticant · 05/02/2025 15:40

That was utterly pointless, apart from being an attempted character-assassination-by-proxy.

Is it normal for a spouse to be questioned in this kind of tribunal? Do I have to account for what my bloke sings on the terraces at Stamford Bridge* whilst I'm at home watching repeats of Murder She Wrote?

I agree @desiringtoremainsane

<fly Fifer raises hand in agreement>

After I retired, I had an ortho appointment at the Vic. The consultant who saw me - and told me that they couldn't consider knee replacements for at least another 10 years - explained that my problems were genetic: each knee falls into the category of patella alta - the arthritis is only a contributory factor.

I nodded and (in Standard English, albeit with my Fife accent) said "Thank you - at least I know now."

"Oh, you won't understand what "patella alta" means..."

"I did Latin at school. I presume you're telling me that my knees sit higher than they should." (No, I didn't say that in a snotty manner.)

He seemed rather astonished.

With other doctors at the Vic, I noticed that their attitude changed somewhat when I gave my profession as "teacher" or "retired teacher".

Another relative, Nicole SPs daughter

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/02/2025 15:41

Now Sandie's daughter.

desiringtoremainsane · 05/02/2025 15:41

They were thin on witnesses. He was there to corroberate her experience. On balance, they may trust that his own views wont sway the panel.

wantmorenow · 05/02/2025 15:41

And now Ms Peggies daughter. Bizarre

Mmmnotsure · 05/02/2025 15:41

Sandie Peggie's daughter. Sweet child!

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 15:42

This is more of the same as to what she witnessed when SP got home

And now Ms Peggies daughter. Bizarre

Perhaps to refute the homophobia allegation?

YellowRoom · 05/02/2025 15:42

Nicole Peggie lives with her mum, dad, sister and dog ❤️

murasaki · 05/02/2025 15:42

At least they'll all be able to talk about it amongst themselves now, it must have been a nightmare.

Boiledbeetle · 05/02/2025 15:42

NP: Altercation the night before with a man present

chilling19 · 05/02/2025 15:42

@WearyAuldWumman

Yes I used Dr (phd) when arguing for my knee replacement which perked things up somewhat
