Minimally, if at all.

Sadcafe · 07/11/2024 10:56

Probably won’t but I’m not sure his suggestions are all bad

PeachyKeane · 07/11/2024 10:57

Interesting read, is he still planning to do all this?

RatitesUnite · 07/11/2024 11:00

He’s currently got Elon in his ear. Elon despises what gender ideology did to his son. Eventually Elon will be on the outer, but hopefully gender ideology has already been struck a mortal blow.

If gender ideology falls in the USA, it falls everywhere. Frustrating for the UK terfs who did all the hard work, but a win is a win.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2024 11:01

Will be interesting to see if he follows through. Should highlight some of the issues globally, if any of these steps are taken, as I'm sure the trans lobby will go into meltdown.

fromorbit · 07/11/2024 11:02

Well if he follows through it will be a huge blow to the US gender industry. If the Dept of Justice investigate they will uncover even more medical scandals. Already the existing detrans cases are exposing WPATH.

However in Blue states gender madness will continue, but they will face a problem because sooner or later the threat of detrans law suits will cause the medical insurers to back away.

So a lot of kids will be saved. This may result in a wider alteration in positions over stuff like sport, and jails in the US. I suspect this will make more people in the UK to think the gender realists were broadly right, but most people think that anyway.

However gender stuff is like a religion for people. So we can't expect it to disappear any more than a scientist disproving miracles makes religions vanish. Especially as Trump attacking it will cause others to double down.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2024 11:02

Also if they finish men in women's sports, specifically, in America it should definitely have a knock on effect elsewhere when it comes to international competitions.

No? Why not? I mean all of this guff originated there, so why would it not have an affect?

Do you think they'll ramp it up, Trump doesn't take over until January. We might also see an exodus of doctors, surgeons and tp. I fear for places that will still be stuck in the gender madness, especially English speaking ones. Also, transpeople, especially children, some of them must be terrified. There's so much hyperbole about this subject. They claim to think this stuff is life saving. Some are so deep they actually believe it. There's going to be lots of nonsense. Court cases, back and forth, are going to be the least of it.

Yes, that's the bit most likely to have wider reach - especially for the next Olympics. Although US inclusion rules already diverge significantly from UK or international ones in a lot of sports.

The rest is mainly internal.laws and funding mechanisms. And that type of legislative change doesn't tend to have much international crossover. If it leads to a rush of lawsuits against doctors, I suppose that might make places like Gender GP a little more cautious.

No chance. Nothing makes zealots more committed to the cause than the attraction of martyrdom. Webberley is no different to Walter Freeman, who went to his grave believing lobotomy was a good thing.

Edit to say I hope Trump enacts those things, it will be a huge positive of him winning the election.

CrossPurposes · 07/11/2024 11:29

Biden threw women and girls' rights under the bus on day one.

Bear in mind the gender medical industry in the US is huge and it relies on a lot of people and not just fanatics. Many are in it for the money, so will move onto something else if it gets difficult, or may be convinced they screwed up. Yes the fanatics will never admit they are wrong, but lawsuits plus Trump could push the industry back to way smaller levels. It will follow similar patterns to other medical scandals.

"On Day One, I will revoke Joe Biden’s cruel policies on so-called “gender affirming care”

"On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out,"

He said he would never abuse power as retribution against anybody. "Except for day one."

War in Ukraine: "I will get it settled before I even become president." (he technically becomes president on Inauguration Day 20th January, but let's give him a day's grace, so the war should be over by 21st January next.)

"On day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out"

"I would fire him [Special Counsel Jack Smith] within two seconds. He'll be one of the first things addressed"

"And I will end the electric vehicle mandate on day one,"

Tuesday, 20th January 2025 is going to be one heck of a day for him!

There are few areas where Donald Trump can claim the moral high ground but he can here so I'm hoping he (or his team) will see that and claim it and make a difference that actually helps women and children.

I think there will be a backlash in Europe/Australia/NZ in particular (if Trump is doing X, we should obviously do Y) and we GCs will continue to be rubbished as crazy right-wingers. Not a lot we can do about that.

It's funny, the GC/TRA issue was enough to influence my voting earlier in the summer and my Tory MP only narrowly kept his seat. So I feel that my vote did help to keep an opposition in the UK which is important.

But if I were American, I would have held my nose on this issue and would have voted Harris. Even if she had enacted a mad-TRA type agenda, I firmly believe that the likes of Isla Bryson are inevitable and very high profile so I believe that eventually policies that favour TRAs will be exposed to sunlight and undone. The question is how much (collatoral) damage will there be in the meantime.

Msmoonpie · 07/11/2024 11:42

Unfortunately some of the left will view anything that Trump does as evil and will bed themselves in further rather than critically review anything.

I actually think it could harm the GC position.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/11/2024 11:43

I think it will put Keir Starmer under a lot of pressure, from within his own party and outside.

I think this could be a downside - depends what more comes out with law suits and medical scandals though.

It's also not a new tactic as you say.

franke · 07/11/2024 11:51

It will all depend on the wording of the laws to determine how far reaching they really are and the extent to which they can be challenged. And disappointed to see that the linked document still uses the nonsense "assigned at birth" albeit in relation to male and female.

carly2803 · 07/11/2024 11:54

i hope the uk follows this to be honest!!!
protect women and children from this crap

peanutbuttertoasty · 07/11/2024 12:01

I’d be absolutely delighted if he does all this. And will be there with my 🍿 for the TRA fallout.

If they can scare doctors into standing by whilst girls die from miscarriages and botched abortions (which is obviously monstrous), they can certainly legislate against the unnecessary mutilation of children!! This is an area where some heavy-handedness is definitely needed.

Day one - boot Rachel Levine out of office and launch criminal investigation into suppression of Wpath files. Release all suppressed documents. Is this a crime? I don’t know but feels like it should be. A high profile hauling over the coals of some sort would be a good thing.

Also day one - all men relocated to men’s prisons.

Also day one - announce provision for the treatment of gender dysphoria as the mental health condition that it is.
