Question for the transphobes here

Do you think this is a reasonable way to engage with people, or is likely to persuade them or anyone undecided that you are right?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2024 12:28

From the article posed by @duc748

At the initial trial court hearing, Indiana officials argued the child “should be in a home where she is [ac]cepted for who she is.” The court restricted the Coxes’ visitation time to a few hours once a week and barred them from speaking to their child about their religious views on human sexuality and gender identity.
After completing its investigation, Indiana made an about-face and abandoned all allegations against Mary and Jeremy, admitting that the accusations of abuse were unsubstantiated. However, Indiana surprised the parents by arguing that the disagreement over gender identity was distressing to their child and contributed to his eating disorder—even though that disorder became worse after he was removed and placed in a transition-affirming home. The trial court relied on Indiana’s argument to keep the child out of his parents’ custody and keep the gag order in place. In short, even though the court agreed that the Coxes were fit parents, it upheld the removal of their child. An appeals court upheld the removal.

Question for the transphobes here - have you ever spoken to a transgender adult who's glad they medically transitioned? Or even listened or read an account where they describe their experiences and their feelings?

Because those people have always existed.

What would be your response to them? To tell them that they're wrong? They would have been happier and better off if they hadn't transitioned?

Why transphobic? Why would you think we're afraid of trans people because we recognise they can't change sex?

Are you afraid of transpeople?

Have you ever met one?

What is this story evidence of?

That social services sometimes mistakenly remove children from homes that aren't abusive?

That parents who refuse to accept their child's sexuality or gender identity aren't abusive, regardless of the distress this causes the child?

"the disagreement over gender identity was distressing to their child and contributed to his eating disorder—even though that disorder became worse after he was removed and placed in a transition-affirming home"

I'm so surprised that the child's eating disorder didn't magically disappear after they were put through the stress of being placed in a foster home! 🤔

The child's voice is of course completely absent from this reporting. As trans voices are generally.

Interesting read, is he still planning to do all this?

100%, he is going straight ahead. He has the Republicans & Vance behind him. Delighted. Finally there is hope for America females to get our sports teams, prisons, toilets & changing spaces back to female only spaces without males demanding our female rights. Well done Trump. Trans rights are not female rights & never will be.

Have you ever met one?

Sigh. Yes of course I have met "one", indeed several, on many many occasions. Not afraid of any of them. Still don't think any of them have changed sex though.

"Finally there is hope for America females to get our sports teams, prisons, toilets & changing spaces back to female only spaces without males demanding our female rights. Well done Trump. Trans rights are not female rights & never will be."

Hurrah! All those hundreds of millions of women who've never actually encountered a transgender person in real life, let alone shared a female space with one, will be able to carry on not sharing a space with one! It'll be radically freeing, because we all know predatory rapists will never enter a female space they're not welcome in!

It's not possible to share a female space with a transwoman, because as soon as the TW is there it's no longer a female space.

duc748 · 08/11/2024 14:04

You may or may not realise it (or care), @izimbra , but posters here have heard all your tired schtick a zillion times before.

Trumped · 08/11/2024 14:06

Well it's a female right to have their own protected spaces.. Trans rights are not automatically female rights. I hope President Trump, Vance & the Republicans can create trans sports teams & trans spaces for them if they don't want to compete with their biological sex or share spaces with their designated biological sex.
Now our female spaces will be legally protected & trans will get their spades, that will be a win for all. No females comfort levels should be compromised because a male feels entitled to infiltrate her designated female space.

Different types of legislation require a two thirds majority in at least one of the houses in the U.S. federal system (can't remember which).

That's why Obama ended up doing all those executive orders: the Democrats felt they had the mandate because they'd won both houses and the popular vote, but they couldn't negotiate with enough Republicans to get two thirds majority for - whatever the legislation was. Probably election promises. Apologies for being fuzzy on the details.
Anyway, it set a terrible precident and has made the U.S. federal executive more monarchical.
But that's by the by, main point is having a majority in both houses doesn't mean what it would mean in a Westminster system. (Unless you actually had a two thirds majority, I guess, but I don't think any party has ever done that).

I agree wholeheartedly with you about the recent trend in US Presidents governing by Executive Order - very undemocratic and a sign that something desperately needs to be done to at least try and gain some bipartisan support for legislation.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2024 14:18

You denied it existed, but nice goalpost move.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2024 14:21

Why do we have had to have met individual trans people to have our own boundaries about males in female spaces, exactly?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 08/11/2024 14:21

Why do we have had to have met individual trans people to have our own boundaries about males in female spaces, exactly?

Exactly. It doesn't matter if it's one or 100 males in private spaces belonging to me, my daughters & other females the sentiment is still the same. I'm so happy Trump really raised awareness & is going to act on behalf of us females to protect our spaces. Kemi will also be very good. Double win this month, the momentum & pushback is fantastic.
However I do sincerely hope more effort will be made to create trans spaces & sports teams, at least they have the option of competing & using the spaces of their biological sex.

To be honest Eresh, it’s encountering the worrying behaviour of certain males claiming a trans identity that makes me want to fight to protect women/girls and women’s rights.

Examples of things that have happened in recent years because of the erosion of important boundaries that were established to protect women and girls are:

  • the popular activity of males posting sexual images/videos of themselves taken in women’s toilets/changing rooms,
  • rapists and child molesters claiming they’re women when it comes time for them to go to prison,
  • mediocre male athletes entering women’s sports and stealing medals and prize money,
  • the recent American phenomenon of male high school students beating up girls who deny that these boys are girls,
  • women and girls being sexually assaulted in previously female-only spaces (the Loundon County school rapist and Katie Dolatowski being two examples that come to mind).
  • Trans political lobbyists fighting to change legislation to remove the right of women to ask for a female doctor when seeking treatment/gathering physical evidence after sexual assault

These are all things that have happened and that make me want governments to realise that women need to have their spaces, sports and rights respected.

Yes, and I'm tired of being gaslighted about it.

Like the EuroGames.

Started as the Gay Games but is now supposedly LGBT - or in fact trans-inclusive open to all.

Categories in the sports I've looked at are male identifying, female identifying and non-binary.

It's pay-to-play, so no public money wasted. The results don't count towards any rankings in serious sport. Those taking part know exactly what they're getting into.

andIsaid · 08/11/2024 14:52

@LilyBartsHatShop

He needs to stay out of jail.

That is his motivation.

And he needs to pay his legal fees.

Another motivation.

Both pretty powerful.

duc748 · 08/11/2024 14:57

I'm pleased to see that quidditch is included in the EuroGames.

u3ername · 08/11/2024 14:58

Trump couldn't care less. It's a clever election move by well paid advisors.
A likely outcome is that it will be tackled wrongly, which will only cause a big backfire.

As I mentioned on another thread, T-shirts with the slogan 'your body, my choice' are already selling on Amazon.

Not a win for feminists.

andIsaid · 08/11/2024 15:06

@Appalonia
Bit annoying though, when he says it's only Conservatives who are against it.

This is so true. As is the problem when they pivot to the nuclear family with "mom and dad".

BUT - the left has ignored women and their rights for so long that they made them politically homeless.

andIsaid · 08/11/2024 15:15

@Trumped

Trans swim competitions had to be cancelled because nobody signed up.

They don't want to compete.

They want to win.

They can't win in their own category so they cheat.
