Be kind, ladies or Debbie will tell you off like one of his pupils.

Why do you want us to know you forgive him? I'm genuinely interested.

NameChange0101010101 · 14/05/2024 12:51

I'm always intrigued by these 'oh I'm not trying to influence anyone, I'm just saying...' posts.

It's a bit passive aggressive.

It's a bit like people who post memes on fb that attempt to condense complex socio political issues down into a couple of sentences, that then get the hump if you ask them to elaborate.

If the conversation was about forgiveness, fair dos. But it wasn't.

Well that was a stunningly informative and useful post. (Sarcasm in case you were wondering, trust you'll forgive me for that too).

Do you think it was the comments about the referee or this that led Hayton to tell JK Rowling what she should or should not say?

J.K Rowling AT jk_rowling
Calling a man a man is not 'bullying' or 'punching down.' Crossdressing straight men are currently one of the most pandered-to demographics in existence, and women are under no obligation to applaud the people caricaturing us.

The fascinating thing about Hayton is the need for being applauded by women...

I think with Hayton it’s the opposite. As well as the AGP paraphilia, I actually think he enjoys being denigrated by women, not applauded.

Well he's not doing anything to men. I should imagine it's not that hard to forgive him.

Bit of concept altogether really tho.

I'm finding it very interesting how the males are sticking together to castigate women who dare to tell the truth and hurt the feelings of trans women.

It's almost as though they know exactly who the men are.

Yeah, odd that.

So what are we supposed to make of your random, off topic comment then Mill?

What was the point of the comment, what point were you making? Also, you don't get to tell other people how to feel about your comments.

I'm sure this probably sounds harsh, but women are so sick of men turning up and sticking their oar in where it isn't wanted - that's literally what the discussion about women only spaces is all about.

If you can't appreciate this, you're even more tone deaf than you appear.

Kellie Jay video discussing the current Hayton kerfuffle:

The section between 11.30 to 12.30 sums up the issue spectacularly well.

Thank you for flagging this section. She's not wrong in what she says here.

Why is it that men with AGP is seen as an “acceptable” fetish. If middle aged men were going to work , or the supermarket, or volunteering to referee football matches while dressed as babies, or in gimp masks, or dressed in latex or leather, or accompanied by their support dominatrix they wouldn’t get beyond the security desk. But dress up as a poor imitation of a woman and suddenly you are a figure of sympathy, calling you out for what you are is bullying, and people with negative feelings about having to work alongside you are reviled.

Except of course if they work for John Lewis where the company are likely to celebrate & make a feature out of employees with a fetish 😑:

Yes. The only person in, what has to be reams and reams of threads about Hayton to state they forgive him, happens to be another man.

(And even then, he doesn't know what he's forgiving him for, he just feels bad about something else he said).

lcakethereforeIam · 14/05/2024 14:07

Clarke features in this thread

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5074798-emily-sheffield-is-a-boss

I admit prior to the reporting of JKR's tweet I didn't recall knowing anything about Clarke. Hayton's article was, imo, ill advised regardless. Now I know, what I know about Clarke...well, there's no defending it.

The pictures of Clarke holding the TERF sign I recognise, I just hadn't realised it was the same person.

It tends to be bro's before ho's with Glinner.

True and he's particularly taken with old Debs.

WickedSerious · 14/05/2024 14:40

True and he's particularly taken with old Debs.

WickedSerious and TinselAngel

What do you mean? I've not seen any evidence of Glinner being "bros before hos". Would you mind giving me an example? I'm not on Twitter, so I won't have seen anything on there.

I grant you he can be abrasive and shoots from the hip, not infrequently apologise to people for his misconceptions afterwards. And from what he says on the few tweets I do see and on The Mess, he has respect for women. The effect on children of genderwoo is what drives him the most, but the erosion of women's rights and disrespect to women is a close second. From what I have heard or read, I would conclude almost the opposite of what you say - he respects women and despises misogynists. He's paid emotionally, psychologically and financially for his support for our fight, and he could have walked away at any time.

I don't think he is any more enamoured of Hayton than any of the women TinselAngel calls "the gentry left". And unlike some of them, he appreciates and admires KJK's. He calls him Debbie but makes a point of using correct (ie grammatical) pronouns. Funnily enough, I have been wishing I could ask him directly why he accepted Hayton as "different from the others" when he breaches women's boundaries regularly and hasn't tried to take back his guidance for schools, but in that misapprehension Glinner is hardly alone. Although hopefully this article from DH will have caused the scales to fall from his eyes at last!

So if you do have any examples, or you could elucidate further, I'd be grateful because that view (that he's bros before ho's) doesn't tally with my experience.
