Just to add context this information has (I believe) been taken from a press release by Greater Manchester Police. Note ‘predatory female’.

This is atrocious. How can GMP justify labelling this depraved individual as a woman. It’s a complete distortion of the truth. And another fucking uptick in ‘female’ sex-offender stats.

Female? Woman? No. Recording these serious crimes as committed by a woman is deeply wrong. It will skew any statistics that takes this as a female crime, because women so very very rarely commit crimes like this. And of course, this man had better not be in a women's prison. But probably is, ffs.

The problem is that the BBCs hands are tied by IPSO-they make the guidance on how to report stories.....the BBC are just sticking to the rules....but I have complained as well as is disgusting
