Whenever I hear about a female sex offender I just assume it's actually a man until there's really, really solid evidence otherwise. I've always been right so far.

Calling a man a woman is further abuse of the victim, and I refuse to be complicit in that.

Statistics and reality are on my side.

I love the community notes so much.

They also illustrate how sinister it is that institutions like the police (that we pay for with our taxes) are lying to the public as well as further abusing the victims of these crimes with their lies.

The last time a community note was added was during the Roisin Murphy news and unfortunately, a TRA pile-on of unhelpful ratings meant that it got taken down pretty swiftly.
If anyone is on Twitter and finds the community note helpful, it's worth popping on and rating it so that it stays in place.

I used the "Factual error" category and also expressed concerns about political bias: in reporting male sexual violence as femal offending they are taking a political position that is hotly contested.

Even if the journalist wanted to follow the IPSO guidance and describe this convicted child sex offender as a woman, when plainly they are a male sexed transwoman, the use of the term 'predatory' is misleading and dishonest. Sexual predation is not a female crime, it's is resoundingly male. A 'predatory woman' is an oxymoron. THIS IS NOT OUR CRIME.

The lingerie shots on his instagram account (Morgan Naomi Clarke) make it pretty clear that he has not had surgery (or not 'bottom surgery' anyway). Definitely male.

Not exactly defending the BBC, they're useless on this. However having worked in BBC newsrooms, it's extremely likely the journalist just lifted it from the Press Release from GMP. The wording is almost exactly the same. They may have thought it was a real woman and not even realised. They've just repeated it verbatim because they think the Police are a trusted source. More fool them. If that is what happened and I was that journalist I'd be bloody furious and bollocking the Press Officer at GMP for making me look like an idiot.

My fury this time is aimed at GMP. How bloody dare they gaslight us all (including the victim). Not to even call her a trans woman but a woman? Just feck off and then feck off some more.

Who do you complain to above GMP? They're bloody useless.

Chatting out the back of the pub tonight, having a smoke, someone mentioned the issue, and I happened to have the BBC report ready on my mobe 😀, and I said I said, what about this bollocks then? It's not a woman, it's a bloke, and of course, everyone said, of course, I hate this shit. And for sure, the vast majority of the GBP would agree.

why not just say ‘predator’ ?

I don’t know why statisticians can’t actually have a category for people’s birth sex in addition to their current one.

Always female- FF / men - MM / women ( born male) FM etc…

i read an article a few years on BBC that women sex offenders had quadrupled in last year and article claimed it wasn’t due to transgender offenders. Turns out that was utter bullshit and the ENTIRE increase was from transgender females.
