GMP who turned a blind eye to Rotheram grooming gangs. Are there other examples of institutional misogyny or violence against women by that force?

I think you mean Rochdale. Rotherham is in South Yorkshire.

Thanks @JanesLittleGirl !

We therefore reported accurately is simply false logic. 'The court misled the public so we were correct in misleading the public' is logic straight out of Alice in Wonderland.

As a PP says, they could have said 'predator.' They chose the phrase 'predatory woman' because it is more of a headline. More attention grabbing. Why? Because it is a far rarer occurrence for women to sexually predate children. Why? Because biologically, we tend towards nurture not attack. So to ignore the male-pattern behaviour in favour of a frisson of shock is purposefully misleading the public for the sake of clickbait numbers. Which contravenes their ethos, their statement of intent

Their 'Purpose 1' is: 'To inform ourselves and others and to increase our understanding of the world through news, information and analysis of current events and ideas.'

Disinformation does not increase our understanding of the world.

'We are aware of the sensitivities around use of pronouns however BBC News editorial practice is to refer to trans people as they refer to themselves. In our reporting we use the term and the pronoun used by the person in question, as we did here.'

They're calling Andrew Miller 'he'. If they're going to obfuscate pronouns they need to make someone's sex clear. The judge in Miller's trial noted his trans identity was a contributory factor in the crime - the girl would not have got in the car had he not been dressed as a woman.

I suppose the BBC is consistent - Andrew Miller made clear that he wanted to be referred to as 'he' so the BBC is following its "preferred pronouns" policy.

What we need is a law making it compulsory for the justice system and the media to report individuals' gender identity, if they have one, their biological sex and their legal sex if different

So Naomi O'Brien, a transwoman and biological and legal male. (AFAIK, he has no GRC )

ArthurbellaScott · 20/01/2024 08:11

the BBC is following its "preferred pronouns" policy

Which they can change at any time.

But will it be changed without compulsionn?

The whistleblowing policy states: “Examples include, but are not limited to: Knowingly reporting false or manifestly inaccurate information to intentionally mislead an audience, or misrepresent the facts;

Thank you that is useful info

Yes, I noticed that too. I wonder if writing to them angain and including that would make any difference?

This is a short Spiked YouTube about the nappy fetishism. It has a line at the start from Joanna Williams, 'deference to perverts', that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Is this nappy-obsessed pervert a woman?

Joanna Williams, Tom Slater and Fraser Myers discuss the media’s capitulation to trans ideology. This is a clip from the latest episode of the spiked podcast....

The BBC report quotes Det Inspector Zoe Marsden, of GMP’s Online Child Abuse Investigation Team:
"other children in the community who could have been subject to similar offending by a predatory female who was inciting others to commit acts of sexual harm"

But the local paper quotes her saying 'predatory person':
https://www.tamesidecorrespondent.co.uk/2024/01/03/ashton-transgender-woman-jailed-for-child-sex-crimes/

Totally sickening if Zoe Marsden of the Child Abuse Investigation Team was di ck pandering to a paedo as per the BBC report - but which one is an accurate record?

Ashton transgender woman jailed for child sex crimes

A WOMAN from Ashton-under-Lyne has been jailed for more than four years after admitting child sex charges.

Chersfrozenface · 22/01/2024 23:03

All the other sources I can find follow thr same wording as thd BBC i.e. per the GMP media release.

As far as I van see, only the Tameside Correspondent has changed the wording from"female suspect" to "suspect" and "predatory female" to "predatory person".

SD67 · 23/01/2024 15:24

That's not the local paper, it's a website. The local paper, The Tameside Reporter accurately reported that O'Brien was trans right from the start - the only newspaper to do so.
