And what happens when Meta and co all start fully encrypting messages?
So many of these predators will avoid detection.

Bobbymoore123 · 09/12/2023 16:03

No they aren't? Are you lying or is one of us stupid?

They have turned off comments on their post too, cowards

Shocker. They knew exactly what people would be posting

@theilltemperedclavecinist I see where you're coming from and I believe clarity in both reporting and crime statistics are worthy goals

I would suggest the following if I was writing the press guidelines, at the very least where reporting on sexual offences.

man = adult human male
woman = adult human female

[name] ... who we understand obtained a Gender Recognition Certificate in... is now legally considered a woman/man, previously known as...

... is a man who we understand self identifies as a transwoman but it not believed to have obtained a GRC, previously known as...

...

ScrollingLeaves · 09/12/2023 16:15

On the first, I feel that the BBC is not a broadcaster of the truth given they have been willing to call that man a woman.

Is it because they must say he is a woman because he says he is and that is the law? If so, it shows the law up as senseless.

On the second, I think that as beautiful youths are better at being what women are supposed to look like in our society than most women ever will be, something must be wrong with our society.

He was beautiful as he was, I wish he’d leave himself alone.

The Facebook page of Morgan Naomi Clarke, in brackets TS Taboo Goddess

The Mail and other media outlets say plainly that Morgan Naomi Clarke was born male as Nathan O'Brien.

Post on that Facebook page of April 16

BTW, the media (the BBC, and, indeed, the Mail) seem to go nowadays for the formulation 'transgender woman', rather than 'transwoman'. I'd have thought this was even more likely to be misunderstood. If you asked the first 100 men and women in the street, what is the natal sex of

a) a transwoman, and
b) a transgender woman, I wonder how many would get both right?

If I didn't know better, I'd start to think the ambiguity was a feature, not a bug.

SerpentEndBench · 09/12/2023 11:57

The use of 'female' is so, so wrong.

Even worse they went on to call him, the convicted predatory male, a ‘female’.

They the police are LYING to and gaslighting the child and their family.

He is a man, a male, an adult male human animal who is mentally depraved.

ScrollingLeaves · 09/12/2023 16:30

I forgot to quote this:

“This is a significant result for what is a very vulnerable and innocent 4-year-old child who was subjected to multiple counts of abuse, but also for all other children in the community who could have been subject to similar offending by a predatory female who was inciting others to commit acts of sexual harm against the most vulnerable in society”

It is a feature not a bug.

The idea is that "transgender" is an adjective describing a kind of woman.

Like tall women etc.

Boomboom22 · 09/12/2023 16:35

But a transgender woman is a transman so this is factually wrong on all counts!

It's a headache isn't it? Stonewall guidance says transgender woman for first occurrence and trans woman thereafter. However, they do have some great stuff about trans people on their website which is very broad and chatty and includes part-time cross-dressers. If the press quoted that every time, the public could be peaked left, right and centre.

KohlaParasaurus · 09/12/2023 16:36

This must be an impostor, because we're always being told that transwomen are gentle, harmless people who just want to live their lives quietly.

Female, my arse. The worst sort of male behaviour from a person living in a body that will always be 100% male.

BlackeyedSusan · 09/12/2023 16:38

TheCadoganArms · 09/12/2023 11:57

I was a male trapped in a womans body for several months.

Then my mum gave birth to me.

Was just about to ask if it was about nine months you were trapped!

Haven’t got to end of thread but typing now as so angry just want to share.

Absolutely will complain to BBC. Wonder if it’s worth complainants ticking a variety of boxes (from the factual accuracy / bias etc. drop-down)? I sometimes suspect that one reason they have this is that it makes complaints easier to reject - they can dismiss them on the basis of the single box ticked, according to their own narrow definition of it (I imagine defences of factual accuracy in this instance may refer to IPSO & the press release) without considering the wider implications of the issue itself being highlighted - which would logically include bias, as this is a distorted representation of accuracy.

Also plan to complain to police. Will read rest of thread, so if this info’s already there, apologies - but if not… how do I do this? May not be able to reply immediately but will be grateful for any link etc.

Also, MPs, perhaps?

“Woman” is bad enough, but “female” is disgraceful. It’s a decisive step towards utterly destroying the accurate reporting of sex, ever. It’s a lethal precedent. Dangerous to democracy (words mean what Big Brother says they do) & women (nothing - nothing! - left with which to describe ourselves; nothing!)

Most of them are harmless, just like most other men are harmless. But a small minority aren't, and I want the public to remember them when they read stories about toilets and changing rooms.

Please complain to the BBC.

The complaints page is here
https://www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints

I used the "Factual error" category. The convicted criminal is not a woman, so the story is factually wrong.

Done. Thanks for the link.

Villagetoraiseachild · 09/12/2023 17:08

It's a really badly typed piece of journalism, with other egregious errors.
No one has taken responsibility for it, the typist is hiding behind the brand.
If they want to maintain any credibility, the BBC will remove it post haste.

The men in question both need to be housed in the male estate.

Heartbreaking that a child had to endure their criminal behaviours.

catscatscurrantscurrants · 09/12/2023 17:11

Complaint made to BBC!

Twoshoesnewshoes · 09/12/2023 17:14

Complained

Villagetoraiseachild · 09/12/2023 17:16

Linguistically, transing man would be more accurate for a biological man on a feminising pathway and transing woman for a biological woman on a masculinising pathway.

It was clear from the Daily Mail article from 2015 that the man in question did not want a sex change, he just wanted to win beauty queen prizes.

Chersfrozenface · 09/12/2023 17:16

Could someone screenshot the post of April 16 on that Facebook page I referred to. In case it mysteriously disappears.

Catiette · 09/12/2023 17:24

Complained.

beastlyslumber · 09/12/2023 17:24

Yeah... no. That's a man.

Fuck off with this misogynist shite.
