Email [email protected]

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Been lurking and following but now the cheese talk has really confirmed I've found my people.

cheddar and kimchi toasted sandwich

I need to try that. We don't have a sandwich toaster but I could do it like cheese on toast and put the kimchi under the cheese.

I do that too if I'm too hungry to wait for the sandwich maker to fire up.
Is Vegemite and honey on toast an actual thing? I like both very much but together?? Is it sweet and salty gorgeous?

Embarrassing confession time. For many years, inside my head, I've ridiculed the notion of a toasted sandwich that used a frying pan/griddle rather than grill.

Last year the grill needed to settle after a deep clean. I've never done toasted sandwiches any other way than a griddle since.
Griddle one side of each slice (my preference which is why I don't like toasties from a gadget).
Butter the untoasted sides of the bread (this gets a little messy, your preferred sequence may differ).
Pop filling on one piece (toasted side), sandwich together.
Griddle on each of the 2 new sides.

Melty excellence.

My secret shame exposed.

@SinnerBoy you need to start her off on a piece of wendsleydale alongside a piece of cake

Or apple pie.

TrainedByCats · 20/10/2023 10:36

Had to give up on trying to keep up as case was going on as too busy but as with previous cases sounds like BC is a worthy recipient of all our £10 donations to the cause.

Pilgrim Tucker could really use more support, it would be good for the OU to see a surge of support for her right about now to show these cases are not going to go away.

Tallisker · 20/10/2023 10:36

<parking bum on seat, agog for the awesomeness of Ben>

This cheddar on ginger biscuit sounds divine, must try. Wensleydale with ginger is quite easy to find (mentioned upthread I think)

I used to like Edam and marmalade sandwiches when I was young and unsophisticated ☺️

Did Jo's witness do well/make a good impression?

I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'good impression'. They certainly gave a lot of us a good laugh.

That was at least 16 of the 18 OU witnesses.

Jo's single witness was sane, sensible and presented reasonable evidence - so much so I can barely remember her after the subsequent farce.

It is very much sweet and salty loveliness, though you need to be careful to only use a thin smearing of vegemite and then a thin smearing of honey over the top.

Jo's witness was good, but detail is lost in the mists of time, (which means yesterday or depending on the time of day, this morning for me).

I will need to go back and read TT.

I can only watch 30 mins today so hoping for a prompt start.

CriticalCondition · 20/10/2023 10:55

I shall try the Marmite and honey combo. Sweet and salty. No mimsy spectrum there - that's a proper binary snack.

katmarie · 20/10/2023 10:56

WFTCHTJ.....

Hillfarmer · 20/10/2023 10:58

Seconded

CriticalCondition · 20/10/2023 10:59

Hoping Debra is clerking today.

Hillfarmer · 20/10/2023 11:00

Sorry about ⬆️ - i was seconding the motion that these threads have been a fantastic, knowledgeable witty and supportive resource these last few weeks. What an amazing community.

WFTCHTJ.....

You called? 😉

Hillfarmer · 20/10/2023 11:01

Also, did I miss something? What happened to Dame Selina Todd. I thought she was JP’s star witness?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 20/10/2023 11:02

No it was Professor Sarah Earle who was Jo's witness.

I bet they started without us again.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 20/10/2023 11:06

Yep. We'll come in mid-sentence again.

PoshCoffee · 20/10/2023 11:07

The administration of this ET has been appalling. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised.

Chrysanthemum5 · 20/10/2023 11:07

Maybe the OU KC has run away? I know I would if I had to try and make a case out of the shower of shite the OU witnesses said.

I think her case will be that Jo was difficult but I don't think being difficult (not saying Jo was!) is an excuse for bullying and bigotry

Me too. I'd had to faff with the settings so I wondered if I'd been left in the lobby for the sin of being late, but at least we haven't started yet.
