In fairness, I think if you work on a google doc or similar, you might well be focusing on the words and not on who's changing them. I can actually believe that two years later, if you had deleted the records long since, you might not be able to remember who from your large social circle of people - all of whom agreed with you - was actually involved. Working on a document with a group of people all remote is not like sitting in a room with them, when you'd remember who was there.

If I was working on a document with others, one I thought important, I would absolutely make sure I knew who else was also working on it. Keeping records is important.

Meeting finished early and unmuted in time to hear Ben telling the witness she was dissembling. I'm not sure she's doing big sighs, I think she's a heavy breather/breathing too near the microphone.

Same as LD, considering the hurt to trans and NB staff, and no consideration to WOMEN or to the members of the GCRN.

Certainly heavy.

But when she feels safer the sighs don't seem to be there so much.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 16/10/2023 15:52

Is someone hoovering?

chilling19 · 16/10/2023 15:52

Vegemite - 'If I was working on a document with others, one I thought important, I would absolutely make sure I knew who else was also working on it. Keeping records is important.'

Yes, you would want to be sure there was no GC spy at the very least

I have never heard such commitment from employees about holding up their employers brand.

It serves them well to do so.

Chrysanthemum5 · 16/10/2023 15:53

I am reminded of 'you can stop Ben, I think he's dead'

Sisterpita · 16/10/2023 15:53

I thought the whole point about Google docs was you could find who amended what when.

ickky · 16/10/2023 15:54

@Sisterpita It is.

I think HBC seems to be finding this much tougher - which I suspect means she is at heart a more honest person than some of the others. Or she's not very bright and it is easier to trip her up

I see that as simple arrogance, and that she's never been asked to explain herself before, where she can't just shout 'transphobia!'

chilling19 · 16/10/2023 15:54

How would she know what the consensus view was across the Uni?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/10/2023 15:54

I don't think it's at all credible that she doesn't know who the other main players in the writing of this letter are.

Mmmnotsure · 16/10/2023 15:54

BC: your interview - this is hurting people and it's not what I stand for or the OU.

HBC: it wasn't the view across the univ [how does she know?]

Ameanstreakamilewide · 16/10/2023 15:56

Sisterpita · 16/10/2023 15:53

You can.

All the metadata is right there!

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 16/10/2023 15:56

That's one thing for sure, chilling. I was thinking of my OH who did some contract IT work for the civil service. A couple of times the system got messed up and the CS people blamed the contractors, not realising there was a paper trail of who had accessed the system. Knowing who has done what can be vital.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 16/10/2023 15:56

HBC: everyone who signed open letter take equal responsibility

"If I go down you all go down with me" Grin

she is at heart a more honest person than some of the others.

I suppose she thought she would get away with it, having done so (at least) once already according to that article upthread. Getting away with it builds confidence. In is own way that article is also very honest. We ARE the good guys and we can do wtf we like to the bad guys and here's how we did it.

So working on the assumption that OU lose what will be the ripple effect? As far as I can see most of the mob that turn up to harass and intimidate women at LWS, FiliA etc seem to be of a university age. They pride themselves on being so inclusive and right, I'm wondering what the fall out of being found to be discriminatory and wrong will be.

Personally I think we've got a few more tribunals to go before we see this ripple effect.

Sisterpita · 16/10/2023 15:57

@ickky @Ameanstreakamilewide Thanks it’s a while since I used it.

GrandmaMazur · 16/10/2023 15:58

Thank you everyone for keeping us up to date - this is fascinating!

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 16/10/2023 15:59

Thanks from me too, this is riveting!

ickky · 16/10/2023 15:59

Fuck sake, my feed just went off and BC was about to kill HBC.

Anyone else not hearing anything?

CriticalCondition · 16/10/2023 16:00

Lost the feed from the court.

RocketPanda · 16/10/2023 16:01

Bet it was HBC

ickky · 16/10/2023 16:02

I want Clerk Debra back.
