ickky · 12/10/2023 16:30

Started on 2nd October at Watford Employment Tribunal (Radius House, 51 Clarendon Rd, Watford WD17 1HP 01923 281750)

You may attend in person or remote viewing has been quite limited but you can request log in details from

Email [email protected]

Header should read

URGENT CURRENT CASE - Public Access Request - J Phoenix - The Open University - 3322700/2021

Ask for access link and pin and please give your name and address in the email as they check when you connect to the tribunal.

The clerk will ask you (in a private remote room) to put your camera on to verify, this involves looking at you, but no ID is needed. You may turn off your camera after this pointless and unnecessary process.

PK: I think the most helpful thing here is for me to ...

BC: NO. The most helpful thing is for you to answer my qs.

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 13/10/2023 15:21

Thanks to all the updaters from another mostly-lurker.

I've been offline most of today, anyone mind saying who's been done today and who are we up to now?

PoshCoffee · 13/10/2023 15:21

BC has the patience of a saint. I’d have thrown a glass at this man’s head by now.

TWANW · 13/10/2023 15:22

Prof trying to tell Ben what would be helpful now and Ben assertively saying "what would be helpful now is if you answered my questions". Priceless.

We've finished with Leigh Downes and now onto Peter Keogh.

LD finished earlier and we are now on PK.

Prof coming across as a man who is used to talking and very inexperienced at listening.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/10/2023 15:23

This man thinks he has such a strong case and all he has to do is explain to the thickies and they will accept his logic

Mmmnotsure · 13/10/2023 15:24

PK: To be frank. The way the GCRN was launched, on twitter, in public, meant they had brought this into public domain. We had to reassure the T, LGBT, disabled, etc communities we work with

MinxJinx · 13/10/2023 15:24

pronounsbundlebundle · 13/10/2023 15:00

How does he square what he's saying with the transsexuals that don't like to be called trans women? Like Miranda Yardley? Has he asked them all? No, he wants to be the one to decide he doesn't give a shiny shit about transpeople.

I'm actually feeling quite sorry for transpeople. With friends like these, who needs enemies.

As an aside I was really happy when I recognised that Miranda Yardley is actually a student buddy mentor on my OU physics module this year 😊

Dr, Downes has finished. This is Peter Keogh see witness list.
Going ok for Jo so far.

RethinkingLife · 13/10/2023 14:49

Before this all finishes, I fear we may need:

  • epistemological
  • phenomenonological
  • zemiological.

When they reach ontological, they will have to stop. Sharp.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 13/10/2023 15:25

Are we on a break?

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/10/2023 15:26

He's coming across as super arrogant and unwilling to listen

Croidia · 13/10/2023 15:26

Haven’t been able to listen to any of this so far - do you think there’s any chance of trying to get a log in at this late stage?
Saw Jo’s update today and have sown a few winter lettuce seeds.

chilling19 · 13/10/2023 15:26

PK - 'no, let me finish'

Ben - no.

PoshCoffee · 13/10/2023 15:26

Mmmnotsure · 13/10/2023 15:24

PK: To be frank. The way the GCRN was launched, on twitter, in public, meant they had brought this into public domain. We had to reassure the T, LGBT, disabled, etc communities we work with

It’s quite something to say you speak to and on behalf of all those people like they are one homogenous mass.

GCITC · 13/10/2023 15:26

PK - we ended up impoverished and without a home.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/10/2023 15:27

Ah BC showing there is no evidence for the hyperbolic statements PK is saying about the risk of losing funding

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 13/10/2023 15:27

Thanks @GCITC @ickky and @LarkLane

I've obviously been missing a lot of fun and games!

chilling19 · 13/10/2023 15:27

PK - there may not be evidence in the bundles'

CriticalCondition · 13/10/2023 15:27

PK - my carefully nurtured work of over 30 years was one click away from the savage Minds podcast. We had to distance ourselves. It was business critical. Our work risked being impoverished.
BC - that is simply not true.

Chrysanthemum5 · 13/10/2023 15:27

PK really needs to rein this in - I worry about his blood pressure as he seems so angry
