Just curious to see what the answers here might be.
Would you vote Tory if Kemi Badenoch was the Tory party leader and the election was tomorrow?
Feel free to answer any way you like, and I don't care about derailing. The question is quite tongue in cheek, don't take it too seriously, and have fun with it if you want, rant if you want. I'm trying to get a picture of the MN mood.

Yes

Watchitsunshine · 03/10/2023 13:55

Yes

SleepingisanArt · 03/10/2023 13:56

No - can't stand her!

GrammarTeacher · 03/10/2023 13:56

Hell no. Look at her voting record in general. It's not one supportive of women's rights. Even if I agreed with her on trans issues (I don't), her voting record on welfare issues and human rights would have me running for the hills. She is not the friend of any type of feminist.

Sandsnake · 03/10/2023 13:56

Hell no

Westfacing · 03/10/2023 13:56

No - I wouldn't vote for the Tory Party regardless of the leader.

Spinet · 03/10/2023 14:00

No. I don't think she's that bad. But the rest of them are, frankly, proving themselves evil at this stage. If we as a country vote tory again we will deserve everything we will get (further poverty, infrastructure breakdown, widening gap between rich and poor, global reputation in tatters etc)

Apollo441 · 03/10/2023 14:02

Yes

lifeturnsonadime · 03/10/2023 14:03

No she has some terrible views on education.

I have 2 autistic children and things have been bad for them education wise. Under Kemi their lives would be far worse.

BethDuttonsTwin · 03/10/2023 14:03

Yes.

Weefreetiffany · 03/10/2023 14:03

I wouldn’t vote for the tories ever. They have done the most damage to society and the economy in 11 years than any previous government. Can’t vote for more of the same, in good conscience, could you?

PorcelinaV · 03/10/2023 14:05

Some people are (correctly I think) blaming the Tory Party for what happened under their watch.

However, apparently they were kind of acting under compulsion with the GRA. It was a European Court of Human Rights thing according to Wikipedia.

And imo, the real forces in play, came from left wing activism, however rubbish the Tory Party happen to be.

RebelliousCow · 03/10/2023 14:05

I'd vote for Kemi Badenoch if she was standing in my constituency for certain. I certainly cannot vote for my current MP, Kim Johnson.

Mamagotmilk · 03/10/2023 14:06

No absolutely not.

AutumnCrow · 03/10/2023 14:06

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

GrammarTeacher · 03/10/2023 14:09

This isn't a single issue general election. I'm concerned around economic, environmental and educational policies. Badenoch would be more of the same in all 3 areas. She is, if anything, more extreme than the current leadership (although less extreme than Braverman). I can't fathom why anyone is saying yes. Have you looked beyond one issue?

Highandlows · 03/10/2023 14:09

Yes

Debenture · 03/10/2023 14:10

Absolutely not.

Lovethatforyouhun · 03/10/2023 14:10

Yes yes YES. Love her.

LizzieSiddal · 03/10/2023 14:10

No, never in a million years would I vote Tory. I detest the lot of them.

bombastix · 03/10/2023 14:10

No. Wants to mess up ECHR

AlienatedChildGrown · 03/10/2023 14:11

Yes

You need to be sure what you are talking about on that one. There's the ECHR and there's the EHRC, some people get them confused which is not suprising given how similar they look/sound.

No. Tories often claim they'll do all kinds of promising, interesting, or desirable things, then people vote them in and they act like Tories, again.
