Just curious to see what the answers here might be.

Feel free to answer any way you like, and I don't care about derailing. The question is quite tongue in cheek, don't take it too seriously, and have fun with it if you want, rant if you want. I'm trying to get a picture of the MN mood.

Regardless, they want us out of the convention and the court. Both are highly risky!

ResisterRex · 03/10/2023 14:13

Yes. Someone said on another thread better to have given more years of them and not lose our rights, and let the madness wash over Labour. I agree with that. Though given how strongly they are clinging to the disastrous GRA, I doubt they'll let it go after five years. But to steady the ship, it's what we need. It'll take 100 years or more to get back what we will lose. This is what we will lose: www.lostwomensrights.com

I'm seeing a strange trend in the replies so far.
Yes answers tend to be a one word answer.
No answers tend to be more descriptive/rantish. A lot of never Tory no matter what.

You must be joking.

Finteq · 03/10/2023 14:14

No

WaitingfortheTardis · 03/10/2023 14:15

No, I would be embarrassed and ashamed of myself if I ever voted Tory. They care about money far more than they do about people.

SnapdragonToadflax · 03/10/2023 14:16

I wouldn't vote Tory under any circumstances. But I think Kemi Badenoch is one of the worst, with very extreme views, and I fear her being leader at the election after the next one.

I'm not voting on a single issue, and I don't believe for a second that Tories actually care about women's rights.

StanleyGoodspeed · 03/10/2023 14:16

nope

I didn't 'rant'. It was an emphatic one word NOOOOOOOOOOO

CoatesCat · 03/10/2023 14:16

No. But we don't get to vote for prime ministers in the UK we vote for parties. Im sure the people who voted Conservative last time weren't expecting to get Liz Truss. My main disqualification for badendoch is her insistance that Brexit is great for the uk.

The other thing that annoys me about the Conservative party is they've even stopped pretending to put people who might be good at the job in the right roles.i work in trade financing. The biggest exporting companies in the UK would accept Michael gove negotiating trade deals but Badendochs got zero experience in trade or contract negotiations.

Robbiesraft · 03/10/2023 14:16

No. I'd like cleaner rivers, green energy, the reversal of species decline. I'd like a fairer, more equal society back again please.

That's just for starters. I'm voting Labour.

What a ridiculous generalisation.

You vote for the candidate in your constituency who you respect and who you think will most represent your values and interests. If there is one that you can vote for positively then you spoil your ballot.

Just wearing a red, yellow or Green rossette is no guarantee of integrity, capability, or honour.

RebelliousCow · 03/10/2023 14:20

If there is not one

PermanentTemporary · 03/10/2023 14:20

Nope. But then I'm not voting Tory.

I specifically disagree with most though not all of what she chooses to focus on.
I think she's more intelligent than Truss and a better communicator than Sunak. She's much too inexperienced to be a leader yet, the idea is ridiculous, but I wouldn't put it past this bunch to elect her.

RebelliousCow · 03/10/2023 14:21

GrammarTeacher · 03/10/2023 14:09

This isn't a single issue general election. I'm concerned around economic, environmental and educational policies. Badenoch would be more of the same in all 3 areas. She is, if anything, more extreme than the current leadership (although less extreme than Braverman). I can't fathom why anyone is saying yes. Have you looked beyond one issue?

Yes, of course we have. In what ways do you think she is " extreme"?

@WaitingfortheTardis is spot on. They are self serving and corrupt.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/10/2023 14:24

Fuck no.

duc748 · 03/10/2023 14:25

Only if the sky turned orange and we had a plague of frogs.

WaitingfortheTardis · 03/10/2023 14:26

@RebelliousCow There is absolutely nothing ridiculous about this at all, they have proven it themselves on numerous occasions. However, I do not think much of many politicians in general regardless of party. The Tories are, to me, the very worst of a not particularly great choice.

GrammarTeacher · 03/10/2023 14:27

As I've mentioned already her opinion on economics and human rights is not for me. I don't write off all Tories and can find points of agreement with most (including my MP Bernard Jenkin - not many though). I thought Priti Patel was too extreme for me then I heard Badenoch speak in various roles over the past two years. The Tories have been a complete lost cause for me when they removed the whip from Ken Clarke though. They have no interest in the middle ground.

That may be your view....but if you are expecting Labour to be much different I think you'll be very disappointed.

Oldandcobwebby · 03/10/2023 14:28

If they paid me £10,000 in used notes, it's still a solid NO from me. Just look what a bloody awful state we are in after over a decade of those bastards being in power.

GrammarTeacher · 03/10/2023 14:28

Those saying yes, other than her statements around trans people what do you agree with her about exactly.

Froodwithatowel · 03/10/2023 14:28

Yes.

It's not a perfect choice, but then no one else I can see is offering anything more sensible at all.

WaitingfortheTardis · 03/10/2023 14:29

@RebelliousCow Not sure any of my posts have mentioned Labour.
