I suspect the widespread naming of the teacher/school elsewhere may lead to it happening here too?

itwasntmetho · 18/06/2023 18:04

The teacher was doxxed on Twitter and someone linked it then the whole thread went.

Not deleted. Hidden until mumsnet have had a chance to look at it. I didn’t realise when I posted it but the teacher was named in the original clip on tiktok. Probably not ideal.

Seems to encapsulate much of what's gone wrong: phones in school, utterly unregulated and wholly secret lessons on inappropriate topics, and the tide turning.

The government needs to stop fart-arsing around and get a grip.

Quite. If they continue to allow schools to force this ideology onto students it’s only a matter of time before things kick off. They need to stop denying there’s a problem and deal with it properly.

SunnyEgg · 18/06/2023 18:19

Deleted. Maybe this will go too

But we need to be able to discuss what is happening in schools somewhere

twoandcooplease · 18/06/2023 18:20

If videos and recordings like the girls made weren't put out there how would most of the parents of school children know what utter bollocks is being taught? Not all kids are as vocal

I'm glad the recordings were leaked and I hope more pupils share nonsense conversations with teachers otherwise no one will know to try and stop them or protect them

Motorina · 18/06/2023 18:39

In the 80s, in my CofE school, we managed to have respectful discussions about homosexuality without the elderly, male, ordained teacher telling anyone they are wrong.

Set aside that I disagree with this teacher. Set aside her woeful ignorance on intersex. No teacher should be telling pupils that their views are “despicable”. Appalling to listen to.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 18/06/2023 18:54

It was appalling to listen to - and without that recording anyone suggesting that schools are overreaching and literally bullying children into complying with a dangerous for children ideology is dismissed and accused of being a bigot.

Until this bloody government gets a grip of transactivism in schools and makes it clear that vulnerable children who believe they're the wrong sex are mentally unwell. They need referring for support and other children must not be used to validate their beliefs. This excellent piece details the psychological harm that happens when teenagers are socially transitioned by adults:

When a teenager says they're transgender - Transgender Trend

What's the best approach when a teenager says they're transgender? Are there risks in the affirmation and social transition approach?

Clymene · 18/06/2023 18:57

Those girls were really brave and articulate.

Any teacher who tells children with expulsion for not buying into gender ideology should be sacked.

FedgeHund · 18/06/2023 18:58

Sounds like a big clear out is needed. What type of person needs the government to tell them to stop abusing children?

Tantaijin · 18/06/2023 19:05

We had the first taste of it this week. My 10 year old daughter laughed and told me that her teacher had said that sometimes men have periods.

Thankfully she already knew all about periods (she was a Velcro toddler so ended up having an age appropriate conversation about what sanitary pads and periods were from when she started to ask me questions).

And we’d already spoken to her about what bollocks ‘gender’ is. That men and women can wear what they want, and have what hobbies/job they want. But that you are what you are born as, and that is it.

She has autism so I wanted to make sure she was very clear on the facts.

Were you able to speak to the school about this? Teachers shouldn't be telling lies to children like this. If they have to discuss it then it should be "transmen can have periods as they're women who've transitioned"

Not having a go btw - regrettably we're all having to turn into "that parent" and challenge adults teaching kids that gender woowoo is fact.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 18/06/2023 19:22

Should also have said well done for preparing your daughter so well - sounds as if she's able to see all this for what it is.

Totally agree. We have said girls can do anything as can boys and there is no such thing as jobs or activities just for boys or just for girls . Also that anyone can wear what they like or call them selves whatever they like but men cannot have babies/periods and that no matter what you do or how you dress if you have a penis you are a boy and if you have a vagina you are a girl. Thats the bottom line no matter how they dress or act and if a boy/girl wants to become a boy or girl they are only whichever they chose if and after they get their parts surgically changed. Sick of all the shite spouted to our kids. None of this nonsense 20 years ago

Soubriquet · 18/06/2023 19:28

I can’t quite understand the video unfortunately (I’m deaf) so dh summed it up a bit.

Well done on those girls for speaking up. A classroom is not the place for someone who has these opinions.

It’s for educating facts.

anyolddinosaur · 18/06/2023 19:36

The girls action in releasing the video was quite possibly illegal. Apparently some people on twitter have been encouraging people to send her and the school abuse. Are we sure they have named the right person on twitter? Does anyone here want to be complicit in someone receiving abuse? It's something for the parents to take up first with the school.

dimorphism · 18/06/2023 19:41

The girls are essentially whistleblowing about their safeguarding in schools.

It's pretty horrendous that their only recourse regarding wholly inappropriate anti-safeguarding and bullying behaviour from their teacher is releasing a video but we know that the atmosphere is essentially McCarthyism. It's come to this, sadly.

It's not a video. It's a sound recording - the camera is in a bag and you can't see the teacher. Sharing it without consent of the participants has to be deemed to be in the public interest.

School teachers telling children they will be expelled from a state school for not subscribing to gender ideology is absolutely in the public interest. The Forstater case legally proved that no one needs to believe in the bullshit

dimorphism · 18/06/2023 19:46

Also anti science behaviour by the teacher - how can that teacher be trusted to teach IGCSE Science correctly (IIRC it was a Science teacher?)? Answer, they can't. It's like asking someone who's trying to impose creationism on a child to teach evolution - they clearly won't.

They also won't teach the biological facts correctly about puberty and that can be very dangerous for children. Not to mention the boundary / safeguarding violations. Telling girls that they have to accept an ideology which allows naked males in their spaces is rape culture - how far are these ideologues willing to go?

I’m going to call on Monday and ask for a meeting with the senco teacher (who has always been wonderful so far 🤞) as a starting point.

I actually have mumsnet to thank for giving me the heads up and making sure she was prepared. It was around three years ago that I read a thread on here that made my jaw drop.

anyolddinosaur · 18/06/2023 20:06

There was no need to name the teacher to show what rubbish is being taught in schools these days - so whether a court would uphold a public interest argument is debatable.

Encouraging abuse to be sent to the school when they may not have heard the tape is despicable.

If I had a child at school I would, sadly, encourage them to record their lesson - and then I'd discuss with the school. Otherwise the "men can have periods" will just be dismissed as a misrepresentation of what was said.

raspberrywine · 18/06/2023 20:10

TBF, it's probably in the best interest of the girls that the thread has been hidden. We know the school and the teacher. How soon before they work out who the girls are? (Actually we know who one of the girls is on Twitter.). It would be witch-hunt. (Remember the super straight kid?)

I hope the thread is deleted tbh so that the girls can be safeguarded. At least on mumsnet.

WallaceinAnderland · 18/06/2023 20:18

Hidden means closed forever so might as well be deleted.

FedgeHund · 18/06/2023 20:22

You can't close the barn door now, it's t oo late. National media won't name the teacher, she can hide behind her victims like the (insert insult) she is.
