Continuation of Thread 4.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions, grr"- that sort of thing).

Oh yes - excellent illustration potential with all of those.

Someone always wants FWR to shut up and go away!

Honestly considering they accuse us of only being six women strong I don't see why they have such an issue!😁

I learned yesterday, that Hebrew died out as a spoken language! And was revived relatively recently. As a result there are some words that are untranslatable. No-one knows what they meant, the 'gopher' wood the ark was built from? 'Gopher' is a literal translation of the letters used but was it a type of tree, a place, the local timber merchant, something else?

I had no idea that Hebrew had died out - I thought it was the language of Israel.

Similarly to gopher wood, nobody knows which flowers the Ancient Greeks called hyacinths - the Flowers of Adonis; it's assumed that they aren't what we call hyacinths.

The old place threated to close the entire site because there was a single thread on FWR issues.

I won't name it because it's now under new, more reasonable ownership.

But yes - remarkably similar MO. 'There's only 6 of them' but somehow the tiny numbers made the whole place uninhabitable and insupportable.

There seems to be a lot of coat trailing and false flagging atm. No idea whether it's co-ordinated or just schools out hobbyists.

I'm not getting involved, they want to slag off the FWR board and misrepresent what we actually discuss here then let them have at it. I can't be arsed with that level of batshittery.

Lots of 'I'm as GC as they come...' from what I've seen of it.

I laughed when i saw someone had written that all i could think of was the thread on here a while back!

I see many of the frequent flyers having a lovely time on that thread.

And Suggestions has rolled out that bloody report yet again.

On the upside, a couple of names I don't recognise offering good rebuttals.

I feel kind of bad for leaving Alison to it to argue with them amongst the new names arguing against suggs et al but she's got more patience than I have

Gosh that thread is full of ppl who claim to have been supporting FWR for years and are most definitely as GC as they come but now feel we’ve just gone too far

It's all the drive by posters who can't make an adequately compelling argument here making a last ditch attempt to stop women being meanies by any means possible.

A fair number who never look at the threads but claim to know exactly what's on them. Also complaining that there are no 'ism' or 'ia' posts because they get reported and removed

What is FWR? Something women's rights? Feminist women's rights?

I looked at the Disney woke thread and the OP's further posts and don't see racism although I hate that the term woke is now used by those who want to be seen as "woke" and those who want to mock in such a way that it's become almost meaningless. If I was African American I'd be mad as hell about that.

I glanced at the Disney woke thread when it was a short little seedling, in a broad vague sense I disagreed with the OP (amazing, considering that FWR is a hive mind of a mere six troublesome old bigots or somesuch), didn't feel bothered to comment because (newsflash) I just disagreed in the aforementioned broad vague sense.

Arf! I'd never given it a lot of thought but had sort of taken it to mean "FOR Women's Rights", as opposed to the more usual position.
