Do you already own anything by Nike that you no longer want to wear

Sharron Davis has just posted an idea - if you're really angry with Nike and no longer want to wear the stuff you've already got then send it back to them. I would love the thought of their offices being swamped.

The tweet is here:

A reply in the thread notes this as Nike UK headquarters

Film House, 142 Wardour St, London W1F 8DD

Anticipating someone pointing out the cost of living and wasting of clothes - if you're not going to wear something any more you've three choices, throw it out, charity shop or send Nike stuff to Nike in protest.

UK charity shops are so swamped with unsold clothes that it ends up abroad being their rubbish to deal with - so I reckon you can send your stuff back to Nike with a clear conscience.

And anticpating further criticism - I am not trying to Nike shame anyone who cannot afford to replace their running or gym gear - or just wants to wear what they already own. Nor am I trying to tell you not to buy Nike if it is the only thing you like or you don't care about the furore. Wear what you like, buy what you like!

But if you are angry, and don't want your Nike gear anymore then the above address is just a thought.

I’m really into sports so I have heaps! It’s soooo annoying I can’t buy my favourite capris anymore. I have some I don’t wear I can send back but I can’t replace everything sadly as I can’t afford to!

I have a sewing machine. How hard is it to see sports wear?

JesusWearsPrada · 09/04/2023 12:11

I'll be cutting off a few swooshes here and there and will stick to buying other brands in future.

If you haven't done so already, there's a "Feedback" link at the bottom of Nike.com, where you can let them know your thoughts.

Kastri · 09/04/2023 12:16

Thanks for link, just used it.
I wont wear my Nike stuff now.

MrsMurphyIWish · 09/04/2023 12:18

Maybe I should go out for a run first and then send my sweaty clothes back, tagged with “did DM get this sweaty then they were frolicking in their garden?”.

DustyLee123 · 09/04/2023 12:19

Get a patch and cover up the Nike bits.

EmotionalSupportHyena · 09/04/2023 12:24

Colouring in light coloured swooshes with a marker pen is also an option (will likely need redoing periodically) or stitch something over the top.

I don’t think I have much Nike as I’ve always been an Adidas Gal - might have a crop top with a central logo - tempted to get a Jess De Wahls heretic patch to sew over it!

What about those of us who genuinely can't afford to replace our Nike stuff that we bought on sale/pre-maternity leave and are absolutely stuck having to wear it if we want to exercise? Is there something we can do? Because I really can't afford to throw £40 (RRP £110) trainers in the post and buy some different ones.

Ooh I missed this. Great idea! I'd love to send stuff back to them but I just can't afford to replace them, I'm only 2 months back from my last mat leave and nursery fees are crippling us.

Hide the logos as best you can and send in photos?

SerotinaPickeler · 09/04/2023 12:31

I don't do any sportswear (happily old, lazy & untrendy) but will seek some out in a charity shop and send it to the Nike address above, thereby also helping out a charity.

Bippertyboo2 · 09/04/2023 12:33

Thanks, I have used the feedback section although it only allows 250 characters!!!!

winningeasy · 09/04/2023 12:36

Why don't you want to wear Nike anymore?

RoyalDeathCult · 09/04/2023 12:37

I'm donating my old trainers to my primary school - they're always desperate for spares.

Sew over the branding with a dinosaur if you can't afford to replace it

Mumped · 09/04/2023 12:43

I’m selling a pair of hardly worn Nike Air Max on Vinted, as I need the money.

I’ll happily send back other stuff.

I won’t buy Nike again.

If anyone is inciting a hate mob against a company could this amount to criminality?

Mumped · 09/04/2023 12:44

I might fashion an adult human female patch for my Nike rucksack [wibk]

From the Twitter posts, yes this is how it looks.
