Do you know what Nike? Forget about “just do it”, as far as I am concerned you can just do one.

Yes, well Nike can fuck off.

There are already two threads about this.

There’s already a thread of this but absolutely agree!

pickledandpuzzled · 07/04/2023 08:36

That video was ridiculous. I mean, on so many levels, jumping the shark level ridiculous.

And the glaring fact that was not a woman... the length of the arms, the body fat, the proportions... before you even get to the ridiculous prancing.

If Nike were looking for 'ridiculous', well they got it bang on. If hoping for credible, suitable for women, practical, stylish or any other message then they missed big time.

Apocalypticdays · 07/04/2023 08:38

Their bras are shit anyway and definitely made for small breasted women, or now men it would seem. They're actually perfect for men or anyone without any actual breast tissue.

Sorry, I did look, but the red mist over my eyes must have hidden them!

Nike using a guy who is mocking women to promote women’s wear is ridiculous. Yet another brand added to my no-go list.

If a company cares so much more about jumping on a stupid bandwagon and winning woke points over representing real women in a healthy, body positive way then they will not get my money.

iamenougheveryday · 07/04/2023 08:39

Choose woke, go broke. Simple.

I’m a small breasted runner. Their bras are shite for me too.

And the same company who effectively sacked Allyson Felix for getting pregnant…

Sunnysunbun · 07/04/2023 08:44

She has no boobs, hips, periods or menopause to deal with.
She doesn’t have a belly after pregnancy or overhang after a C-section. She doesn’t have years of being harassed in the street by boys and men for simply being a woman/girl exercising. She hasn’t been mocked for being too fat to too thin by men and boys. No one has written articles or comment on her bingo wing arms. She hasn’t got varicose veins from pregnancy which people comment on or have left her embarrassed.
But apart from that - excellent choice.

Ostryga · 07/04/2023 08:47

I’m really sick of DM taking away from women (or “girls” 🤮) but it seems like it’s going to be a long time before the tide turns on this particular person.

Apocalypticdays · 07/04/2023 08:47

@MrsMurphyIWish

Apologies. Had assumed they might be OK for smaller breasted women, clearly not, just shit in general then or maybe actually made for men.

Abhannmor · 07/04/2023 08:48

Allyson Felix represents Athleta now. We should shop around .

Yup. It’s a shame. They used to be a great brand but now they’re just catering for the fashion market. Or obviously now, the male market.

Sorryyoufeelthatway · 07/04/2023 08:54

What is this transphobia we keep
hearing about? As far as i can see from them/their/fisherthems videos you don’t need a sporty bone in your body and you become an ambassador for Nike.
Sounds great where do I sign up…oh wait no, I’m a woman.

Lisbeth50 · 07/04/2023 08:59

I'd never heard of this person until yesterday and thought at first it must be a joke. It looks exactly someone trying, and failing, to be funny by parodying a woman. It's actually extremely offensive.

Flowerly · 07/04/2023 09:00

I think that's how he started out but then realised that it was pretty lucrative.

Fluffywabbits · 07/04/2023 09:07

From the other threads I've seen it was unclear as to whether Nike had actually commissioned DM to promote their sportswear?

CleaningOutMyCloset · 07/04/2023 09:11

I'm not sure Nike have endorsed it, and going by the absolute outrage it's caused it's unlikely (unless they have already) they will. I know sometimes even bad publicity is good, but lots of women are saying they are going to stop buying from Nike now, so I think it's going to impact sales regardless

AngelinaFibres · 07/04/2023 09:12

It's all very sad. Dylan is a biological man who seems to think being a woman means channelling Jackie Kennedy or a weird doll like creature. I have no doubt that body dysmorphia is horrendous but Dylan has a man's body, a man's hips, no breasts. Advertising a product specifically designed to help women to be able to exercise, without the pain that doing that with breasts causes, when Dylan doesnt have any breasts, is just bizarre.

hamstersarse · 07/04/2023 09:21

I watched the video yesterday.

I think I’m actually now transphobic. Yes, phobic.

Sunnysunbun · 07/04/2023 09:22

@Flowerly No shit Sherlock

Horizons83 · 07/04/2023 09:33

I keep wondering if Dylan is on one massive trolling exercise and now he's got past the 365 days of 'girlhood' he's going to do a big reveal about how it was actually all a trick to see how far he could push the media and companies into endorsing him.

But I won't hold my breath.
