Do you know what Nike? Forget about “just do it”, as far as I am concerned you can just do one.

Funny, weird, scary? Just had an Adidas advert appear as reading the posts!

Any women sporting bras?

Same here, 3 DDs with Nike trainers, leggings, hoodies etc.. no more, they can find a new brand to like and wear.

I wear Nike quite a bit. Leggings. Trainers, jogging pants and hoodies.

I have 4 children, who although don't really care for Nike, it's an easy choice when they need trainers or sportswear. No more.

I genuinely will never buy another item from Nike.

Not just because of DM but because I've gone down the rabbit hole today with how they treat women.

And maybe that’s why their sportswear is so shite for women. Always been thin and badly fitting. Apparently it’s perfect for dickheads though.

Nike must be aiming at the Dickhead market. The absolute insults to Women and Girls by using this non sporting person beggars belief.

IDidntFloatUpTheLaganInABubble · 07/04/2023 17:13

Am taking DD out next week for new sports wear and bras. She has list, I’ve just told her if Nike items are on it to look for alternatives. I regularly buy their items for her but I’ll be buggered if I’ll give them anymore of my cash.

The best leggings according to a Yoga teacher who has tried many brands over the years are “White Stuff”

I bought some on her advice, and they are wonderful.

I'm still baffled that a selfie type social media thread of someone prancing about barefoot in the mud in their garden and falling over a bush is sponsored by a firm that spends a fortune on their image and advertising.

In a minute I'm going to take a selfie of myself sitting on the draining board by the boiler and get British Gas to sponsor me. I might flick a digestive at the cat and see if McVities are up for this too.

That made me laugh out loud.😂

I wake up everyday hoping for a Western society-wide curtain to be drawn open, and us being told a Stanford University experiment involving all of us has been in operation for the last few years.

Alas, those curtains are still closed tight...

UltimateWario · 07/04/2023 15:52

So why haven't they chosen a female model with a broad back? Or a female model with small breasts? To model women's clothes?

Or you know, an actual athlete?

Not a pretender jumping about like something out of In The Night Garden?

@UltimateWario Spot on.
Yesterday I saw a Female boxer sparring in a public park with her Trainer.
She was wiry, muscular, serious, and exactly right to advertise Sports clothing for women.

I’ve only ever worn Nike trainers as I feel comfortable in them. Will definitely be shopping around. My dd is walking around in her favourite Nike hoodie, I’ve just told her we are boycotting Nike, she’s a bit gutted as she loves their cushion socks, but agrees what they are doing is wrong, she’s 10 and said can she still wear her hoodie, I’ve said yes but we won’t be buying Nike going forward. Haven’t told my other DD there will be no more Nike Pro leggings.

I had no idea about how badly Nike have treat women over the years until today. I’m raising 3 girls, I want them to grow up understanding that women and girls need to stand up for themselves, sometimes by doing that we have to do it by using our voices and other times by walking away from something or someone if we have to.

Nike respond on Instagram

Apparently they will censor and delete comments.
They also labelled criticism as “hate speech”

Reebok is my go to for sports wear. New Balance for trainers.

faffadoodledo · 07/04/2023 18:04

Hoka trainers are awesome. I run and play tennis in mine

Doubling down? Yep, like that's always worked.

Women of the world, unite!

Me, I gave up on Nike last millennium.

Be kind.

What a surprise - women, know your place and BE KIND 😶

Not a “she” male by birth. No I am
or bigoted, just believe in stating the truth

nepeta · 07/04/2023 18:36

I did the moves Dylan showed us yesterday, with the grin and the head toss and everything.

DH couldn't stop laughing, pointing out that I had finally learnt to 'woman' right.

But I had a sore neck afterwards from those sudden head tosses.

MrsMitford3 · 07/04/2023 18:38

I have taken a pair of Nike trainers out of a shopping basket today.

If they are going to delete our comments there is only one way to be heard!!

It would be brilliant if ppl could mention sympathetic brands-def taking no shit any more!!

Maerchentante · 07/04/2023 18:46

As far as sports bras go, I have a Brooks Fiona (discontinued) and one from Sweaty Betty. I have large breasts and in those bras, nothing moves.

I am in need of new leggings and certainly won't buy Nike.

To show such disdain for women, whether it is through treatment of their ambassadors or by sponsoring someone like DM, is unacceptable.

For sports bra’s you can’t beat shock absorber imo.

I wear them as everyday bras as they’re far more comfortable than lacy underwired things and hold the boobs in place more effectively.

DutchCowgirl · 07/04/2023 18:58

I’m a female runner. I always buy my clothes at the Nike mens department … because I am very tall, and a size 16. And I really like long and wide shirts.. Maybe I can start a modelling career with them😎

faffadoodledo · 07/04/2023 18:58

@Maerchentante Sweaty Betty leggings are great - they wash and wash, and don't budge. Love 'em. Sizing is consistent too

See sweaty Betty circa 2005 i used to buy all my clothes from. Reasonably priced- cheaper than Nike and other sports brands.
Great line in combats (£17)- plus my 20% nhs discount I was sorted for my comfy post maternity wear.

took dd in, nearly fainted at the prices and backed out very slowly…
