I don’t know if she can win given it’s been a Labour constituency since it was formed (in 1980s) and was held by Frank Dobson and then Keir Starmer and according to data is a ‘progressive’ constituency, average age 41 and good job security. Interestingly I can’t find data on constituency make up by sex.

I’m not sure she’s expecting to win. She knows she can cause an awful lot of disruption though. And I say bring it on!

He has nobody but himself to blame for this.

KJK isn't running to win, she is running to show Starmer up for what he is.

He made his choice when he threw women, and children's safeguarding, under the bus. Because he decided it was the easiest option for him. That our rights, protections and dignity were lesser than a vocal cabal of identity ideologists and MRAs.

I think the twitter term that gets bandied around is 'welcome to the consequences of your actions'?

Disgusting man.

I wonder if this could be Starmer's Nicola Sturgeon moment?

I think KJK should make a nice hat for Starmer, as he believes in a conspiracy of women who understand biology as out to destroy a load of men with fethism issues.

Would love this

raspberrywine · 29/03/2023 14:44

Gotta love KJK.

My concern is that certain sections of msm will completely ignore KJK so her message won't get out to everyone who needs to hear it.

SmoothSeasDoNotMakeGoodSailors · 29/03/2023 14:48

Just as an aside, what happened to Lily Madigan?

maltravers · 29/03/2023 14:51

I imagine the local Traliban will try to disrupt any KS/KJK debate/hustings. We can’t Let Women Speak if they have things to say we don’t want people to hear now. Of course, that will tell its own story. I can’t imagine the good people of Camden and St Pancras taking kindly to a bunch of shouting ski-masked pot bangers.

SageHoney · 29/03/2023 14:53

I remember when Reg Keys, founder of Military Families Against the War, stood against Tony Blair as constituency MP in 2005. Blair - as he had for years - refused to engage with him and Keys said he was treated as a heretic when he canvassed because so many people in the constituency viewed Blair "like a god". But when the election results were announced, Blair had to stand on the stage with the other candidates and listen to Keys's speech about his son's death in Iraq, the dawning realisation that the war was illegitimate and mismanaged, and Blair's/Labour's refusal to listen. This was very widely reported internationally. BBC1 finally made and aired a feature film based on Keys's experiences in 2016 ('Reg').

Keys was a paramedic and ambulance driver before he became an activist of sorts as he was forced to speak out more and more raically on Iraq. He had no experience in electoral politics and didn't think for a moment he'd be elected as an MP. He just wanted people to listen to his experiences and consider that something other than what they wanted to believe might be the truth, and might be important. He was right. And Labour still haven't learned.

Tbh I hope she does get good security.

They can be violent

"Tbh I hope she does get good security. They can be violent"

It's perfect for exposing the aggressive tactics that Labour uses to silence women. Look at the scenes outside the Lesbian Project meeting (in Starmer's constituency). Led by a man who served 30 years in prison for attempted murder, kidnapping etc but who's says he's now a woman and is celebrated by Labour MPs :
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11655647/Labour-MPs-attend-protest-trans-activist-jailed-murder-bid.html:

Their lack of self control, screaming fascist at everybody not cowering in front of them will be an eye opener to those unfamiliar with the tactics.

Labour MPs attend protest with activist who was jailed for murder bid

Labour MPs have been blasted for sharing a platform with a transgender activist who was previously jailed for attempted murder and kidnap.

ItIsFiat · 29/03/2023 15:15

You get the type of thug men attached to Labour attaching themselves to the far right.

Momentum members just seem to be rebranded as trans activists and instead of Jews the new targets are women.

PatatiPatatras · 29/03/2023 15:17

Labour and TRAs will paint her as a nut job.
We might know she's not but this just means her message will be heard in 20+ years. It'll be glossed over the way farage was glossed over especially if the aim is to paint her as far right.

Women who look up to her will be seen as hysterical.
No one ever listens to women. You'd need isla pink leggings complete with rape charge to run against ks before anyone takes notice of what is going on.

KJK is a very credible and articulate speaker. They may try to paint her as such but I don't think the general public will buy it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 29/03/2023 15:38

I understood her to say her plan was to get members on to local councils, police and crime commission etc. To ensure they can't just nod through policies like toilets rape crisis centres etc being open to anyone who identifies as a woman. I think this is an excellent plan

What a massive opportunity the Womens Equality Party threw away.

BloodyHellKen · 29/03/2023 15:41

I'm so looking forward to seeing KJK debate gender woo-woo, child safeguarding and the infringement of women's safe spaces with Kier Starmer.

The BBC press won't be able to ignore it and it will become even more of an issue for the next GE.

I'm so sick of the word progressive because all it seems to mean when used by the political left is 'lets all conform to gender stereotypes like it's 1950 again' - the polar opposite of progressive. I am absolutely sickened that I voted for Labour/Lib Dems/Greens for so many years.

Go Kelly J, you are an amazing woman and I take my hat off to you.

You have the New Zealand PM saying he would join those who punched a 70 year old woman and had KJK assaulted.

Now the Biden administration wants those who don't believe the male health minister who is sterilising and making children permanently pre pubessant - shot!

Good luck to the left convincing KJK is the bad and insane one.

Democratic press secretary's tweet removed after she slams ‘transphobes’ in wake of Nashville shooting: report

Josselyn Berry, the press secretary for Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, was criticized online after she reportedly posted an image of an armed woman in a tweet about "transphobes."

Maybe Keir can ice skate after the two Scottish first ministers in a hole, all for the conspiracy theory made up by transvestites.

SpicyMoth · 29/03/2023 15:48

Even if she doesn't win, surely she'd do better than Farage or Laurence Fox, and maybe that's all we need to actually be heard?

BordoisAgain · 29/03/2023 15:49

We know she won't win

KJK knows she won't win

KJK isn't doing this for votes, she's doing it for the sunlight that will pour in when KS has to answer questions that he has been avoiding. That is the actual point here.

I do hope KJK makes this clear, as you just know the TRAs will be ignoring all this and crowing on about how she didn't get many votes and this proves TERFs are hated, etc. etc.

Maedan · 29/03/2023 15:51

She's not expecting to win, that's not her goal. Good luck Posie 💐

chilling19 · 29/03/2023 15:54

Yes, KJK will force this out into the open - the media will be all over it. But what will ensure that she gets heard are the reporting rules in the run up to the election

'It is important to remember that the "major parties" must be given due weight in coverage during an election period and no candidate should be given an unfair advantage. On polling day, discussion of election issues should cease.'

www.channel4.com/producers-handbook/media-law/other-laws-affecting-broadcasting/election-reporting

Meanwhile, if Starmer gets in, everyone will be aware of what to look out for (schools, prisons etc) and which organisations to contact for support.

Needmoresleep · 29/03/2023 15:56

Keir's problem is that he is very beholden to young Labour activists. They will be leafleting and canvassing for him. He knows they are out of sync with the centrist floating voter. He will try to keep both groups happy but staying on the fence.

KJK won't let him. We should help her.

Datun · 29/03/2023 16:15

7Worfs · 29/03/2023 12:47

Very clever move. She knows she won’t win, but she will make him squirm and look like an idiot. If she gets good media coverage she could cost Labour the elections.

If she comes up with something hilarious and incisive like “I’m not a vet, but I know what a dog is” in a debate against him, he’s toast. 🤭

That would be amazing 😂

She's absolutely determined, isn't she.

Every time these violent thugs try to shut her down, she just finds another way to fling open the curtains.
