I looked them up. Seems to be female to male so actually is one of "our" crimes for once. Be interesting whether they are sent to a male or female prison. I mean, personally I think it would be unethical to send them to a male prison (even though it is very hard to have any sympathy for someone who killed a load of children) but logically you would expect the usual suspects to be demanding they are sent to a male prison in keeping with their gender identity. Bet that doesn't happen though.

I saw on Twitter that Audrey’s birth name is Aidan so a transwoman. Not an actual woman. If so it’s weird that they have been described in the news as female.

Not quite - the reports drew attention to the "by a woman" which is what made me question it.

Seeing as statistically how unusual that is, how many times we are right, and as a defence mechanism to the unrelenting eg media / social media onslaught of lies and gaslighting, unfortunately yes, that's what happens now.

The shooter is dead, so prison does not enter the equation.

I fear this is going to be used as a stick to beat the trans community with.

If she is a biological woman, it’s weird that the press referred to her as such. They wouldn’t do that if it was a man, they would use his preferred pronouns and acquired gender.

Read the news the shooter was shot dead , so no won't be going to prison !

I can't tell you how much these school shootings, and any shooting of a child, just fucks with us here in the US...I probably need to get off the internet before I lose my mind...can't take having babies gunned down. We never know when it will be ours.

These threads feel similar to conservative messaging boards I used to read when Islamist terrorism was higher profile. Whenever there was a shooting in the US, people would be hoping that the shooter was a Muslim, and you could see the disappointment when the shooter happened to be white.
