Are you a closet Gender Critical?

SilentRadical · 24/01/2023 21:05

Only very close relatives know that I’m gender critical. That short list includes my husband and my mother and that’s about the end of it. I live in canada where it practically feels criminal to question transgender advocates.

Is there anyone else here feeling the pressure to stay quiet?

I have no problem with anyone identifying as male or female but I think it should be made law that you inform any future partners that you were once either a man or a woman.

MorvenOfMalvern · 24/01/2023 23:06

Today has been a good day to fling that closer door open.

Literally no one on real life is ok with the Isla Bryson situation. It's an absolutely fantastic eye opener for anyone who didn't see it before. Then you tell them about enforced name changes in pronouns in court, then you point out they're in a women's prison...

I don't even know what it means! Bit late to the party!

Over 74,000 people have signed this petition and the numbers are increasing by the hour, chances are several people that you know have signed it already.

PicklesAndTequila · 24/01/2023 23:11

I'm getting more outspoken, I am quite nervous though.
Going to my first event soon and looking forward to it.

If that has ever been a trend in the past then I sincerely apologize. But I assure you that I am 100% sincere and I am not here to hurt others. Please try not to jump to conclusions.

My DSis has a phd in genetics. She is more than happy to take referrals from friends and family when teenage children start to spout bullshit. She had a very special way of disindoctrinating them.
My niece was absolutely convinced that by reassigning, your chromosomes automatically changed too, she has an A level in biology! Fortunately, her sister and my DS are less gullible, but are both kind and tolerant of those less well blessed with critical thinking skills.
The indoctrination within universities is mind blowing.
However, my DS’s school were brilliant at handling it when a pupil decided to regender. So much so that many parents were unaware of it until they were 5th form. My DS & friends sat in the back of my car on the way to their prom discussing whether the individual would wear a dress or suit. Genuinely interested rather than critical or cruel. They are still gender critical but also understand the importance of kindness.
For lots of reasons I have to stay in the closet. Hopefully one day the empowers new clothes will be exposed.

You’re right. Thank you as many of these comments have given me the courage to be more myself. I will work to do better. Thank you.

I can't believe people can be sacked for saying you can't change your sex.

not really. trans people don't really bother me. Not enough room in my life for hate.

I get that.

madeyemoody · 24/01/2023 23:31

@PSNonsense possibly, but I work in a small team and all of them are pronoun pushers. I love my job and the trust I work for have been amazing to work for so I won't take the risk. I refuse to put my pronouns in my email signature and have been questioned a few times, I've politely refused by stating "I'm a lesbian I don't need to" and honestly it's so sad how confused people are by all the gender kool-aid that they are honestly too scared to question me further incase I report them for crimes against the alphabet soup. I mean..as if being a lesbian is an actual reason why I'm not doing it 🤣

I don’t hate transpeople. I’m more concerned about the erosion of female sex rights allowing situations such as Lea Thomas, Jessica Yaniv and the big breasted teacher in toronto to happen.

The endless list of rapists suddenly announcing that they are suddenly identifying as women to get lighter sentences. The man invading women’s shelters and rape crisis centers and the disturbing linearity of the sexual abuse cases in the catholic church and mermaids. It’s as of many of these people are regarded as priests. They can do no wrong. They speak the one and ONLY truth. Those who question are shunned as non believers. The priests do no wrong. They are sacred and holy (and they are touching your kids). But we don’t talk about that.

Don’t get it twisted. I know there are trans people who truly just want to live as their chosen gender. And that’s fine but… there are some who have other motives. And I’m sorry but transwomen need checks and balances. I wish we didn’t live in a world where that was necessary. But we are simply enabling abusers at this point.

Also giving children puberty blockers that stop vital brain and sexual health development. Sexual health development that could make transitioning as an adult easier and more successful! Just look at Jaz Jennings. She had surgical complications because she didn’t finishing developing.

And the secrecy in schools and the push to change children. The lies and the exaggerations. Everything is highly partisan and politically motivated. When you mix that with surgeries and health concerns it’s a perfect recipe for disaster.

My company has signed up to Stonewall. I'd be sacked if I said what I thought

Thelnebriati · 24/01/2023 23:36

I'm not in the closet but I don't live anywhere where speaking about women's rights is illegal, yet. I also don't have a job that's at risk by speaking out.

I will never defend allowing convicted sex offenders to change their legal sex, and the 'anti haters' need to own that is what they are fighting for.

@littlbrowndog @cheshirecatssmile

I could definitely envisage becoming extremely vulnerable to HR and disciplinary action in my NHS trust, just from how openly pro trans, "pro gender feeling affirming" my trust is. I am definitely the minority, both in my small team and wider team. It's the sort of environment where we announce pronouns during meetings and put them on our signature along with our "flags".

Itisbetter · 24/01/2023 23:40

I have no problem with anyone identifying as male or female but I think it should be made law that you inform any future partners that you were once either a man or a woman I think your partner is highly unlikely to be able to hide the fact they are the opposite sex to the one you think they are. Are you under the impression that you could have sex with someone and not know they had different genitalia than their clothing suggested???Confused

FastFood · 24/01/2023 23:46

Yes, becaude I'm a coward.
I have some close friends and family with whom I share my views easily, and a new group of online friends that I've met because of that, but most of friends are hollier than thou and so woke they can't sleep at night, just questioning gender would be akin to be a proper nazi and a child-eater

Irony is, I'm sure some of them are secretly GC as well but they work in media and face some sort of scrutiny so need to be as pure as can be.

greenspaces4peace · 24/01/2023 23:52

i'm in canada, and i'm invisable. 65+ retired.

i'm gc and doing my best to read up in case i'm ever called upon to express my views politely. dh father of 3 children and fully aware how babies are made is equally gc with past experience playing university level sports.
i'm following the amy hamm case carefully and praying it goes well for gc views.

fdgdfgdfgdfg · 24/01/2023 23:57

I'm out and proud, but I'm a bloke so it's probably easier.

That sounds like a difficult way to live. 😔
