Every DV incident must have a DASH risk assessment submitted - which is about 30 questions asked to the victim about the relationship with the suspect. Safeguarding must be addressed off the back of this risk assessment. So these are not 'quick notes' and the whole process being with the victim can take hours to complete. So, all the ins and outs should be recorded and captured on BWV

If no complaint from the victim is made you can apply for DVPO & DVPN - another lengthy process but worth the weight in gold to safeguard victims.

LexMitior · 19/01/2023 14:48

Felix, can you say hand on heart that this happens?

I know it does not

Felix125 · 19/01/2023 14:53

Well, it does with our force as you can't stand down from the scene with out it.
If you try - you will just get sent back. Its all done on laptops, so the control room can see if you have completed it or not in anycase.

So its easier if you just do it properly and complete it with the victim

BWV often gets reviewed to make sure you are doing it properly too.

LexMitior · 19/01/2023 15:08

The operative word is should. That's often what comes up in complex case reviews with death from domestic violence. You can see that it should have happened. But it did not.

That is something and everything to do with the people who are frontline. What should happen does not.

Felix125 · 19/01/2023 15:16

The processes in place where we are make it impossible not to do it really - or easier to do it properly than not do it - if that makes sense

Thanks @Felix125 , this is really reassuring.

no problem

Sky are reporting two retired officers charged with CSA offences, seemingly as part of the same investigation as this:

All the police forces are different in terms of tech and how much this is enforced though, aren't they?
I sometimes think the Met issues are clouding perceptions of "the police". I'd like to hope not all forces have the same problems

Anyone who wants to understand how police officers get away with rape, sexual assault and corruption need only read @Felix125's posts.

What, by me saying that the likes of Carrick should have been jailed a long time ago. That he should have been vetted properly and prevented from joining the police in the first place.

That each report should have been investigated properly and not just swept under the carpet - or dropped when Carrick said that he would return the items he took from a theft he cmmitted.

Every officer should be subject to continued vetting - police should not be involved with rainbow cars, aligning with charities and wearing badges & stickers (poppies & Ukraine badges etc) whilst on duty

How are you surmising your views from what i have posted - since your accusing me of protecting officers like Carrick and saying that i am corrupt???????????????

What i have posted that backs your comments up?

You have a blind spot a mile wide. You can't see anything really wrong with the police because it's totally normal to you.

So you get all defensive and accusatory and tell stories about how straight you and your colleagues are in a world where you can't see the problem. Corrupt officers are corrupt, but it's blind coppers like you that are a serious problem too.

Felix125 · 20/01/2023 07:40

I'm not blind to it. I am aware that it exists and it needs to be rooted out.
If i get wind of anyone doing things - I will take action against them.

Utterly blind. It's under your nose. It's everywhere.

ResisterRex · 20/01/2023 08:15

It's everywhere.

Perhaps. Perhaps not. But it's certainly becoming evident that the problems to do with sex and abuse of power, in positions of public trust are more prevalent than thought:

"Two retired Met officers have been charged in connection with a suspected police paedophile ring being linked to the death of a serving chief inspector."

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/01/19/suspected-paedophile-ring-met-police-serving-chief-inspector/

Predators go where they can access victims.
The Priest hood and teaching and tough now, lots of checks. The Police is the natural place for them to end up atm.

And schools:

A man dressed as a little girl hanging around the school gates

@EssexPoliceUK say he’s no threat but how long before a dad takes this into his own hands?

This approach from @BJH251 increases hostility towards trans people and puts kids risk

The police have also asked people to stop sharing photos of this man on social media. What the hell is going on?

It seems like paedophiles groom others whom they feel might be susceptible so that they join the 'gang'?
Which makes me think of the Gary glitter song 😣

Shocking article about a woman who tried to report her rape by a police officer.

DerekFaker · 27/01/2023 16:42

Sorry report her rape to the police. She.wasn't raped by an officer.

Boiledbeetle · 27/01/2023 16:46

Is like to say I'm surprised, shocked, horrified.

I'm just, oh? Another victim not listened to? Again.

That poor woman.

How did we end up with a police force that is so corrupt and dismissive and ineffective?
