Article in Unherd by Mary Harrington about 'transmaxxing', a phenomenon in which young men transition because they can, not because they have dysphoria but in some vague hope of having sex with sympathetic women.

It's reminded me of Ollie London, who assumed that just because you can do something (in his case have surgery to make him look Korean) it's okay. No ideological awareness, no ethics, just a why not? kind of attitude.

Could not care less what you think that photo was published online by someone taking hormones who put those photos out there. No one asked him to to. That's how he chose to show himself to the world. You got a problem take it up with him.the first photo was at one month the second at ten months of him taking hormones.

Yes the hypocrisy and double standards on here are unbelievable.

If I were to say a certain category of people did not exist I would be deleted or most likely reported by either a TRA or one of their brethren.

DS (early 20s) talks about "living in this vile meat suit" that needs washing and feeding and generally looking after when the 'important' stuff is his life online away from all that.

Actually, Pauline, could you define exactly what trans means, please, because we've got other trans supporters on this board who think a lot of transpeople lie about being trans. He thinks the Transmaxxers, or Kayla Lemieux (the teacher with the massive fake breasts) over in Canada or Karen White aren't trans — though he can't say why. Where do you stand on how to distinguish fake trans like the three listed above from real trans? Come on, educate us.

When you say transexuals, what do you mean? Transexual is a very old-fashioned term and one that a lot of trans people would consider transphobic because it implies that you need to have full sexual reassignment surgery to be true trans. As you know, 97% of trans people don't have SRS. You were probably reported for transphobia by another TRA.

@paulinesmithson you need to talk to ELO. He's the trans supporter who thinks lots of people who say they're trans aren't. Educate him, would you? And he'll educate you back.

Have a look at some of the YouTube videos of your "transsexuals" clearly motivated by what you deny to be true.

Also see Debbie Hayton, a real TW (according to the party line) who admits to this paraphilia and does not deny that this is a motivating factor for a lot of TW. And that's coming from a TW.

I've been listening to "young trans people" since I was 18, Pauline.

Interestingly, a male barrister who regularly posts on this board has just gatekept another transitioned male from trans identity on twitter.

It became clear to me initially with the abuse detransitioners received. Often with the flourish if ‘you weren’t really trans’!

How very interesting and very clear once you start to see the hypocrisy that is integral to identifying as trans while denying women and girls the right to reject males using the words women and girls use to describe themselves to describe male people.

Whereas, I have never seen someone gatekeep a female from the female sex based on their beliefs. They are just a female with a difficult set of beliefs.

Once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

Why do you think this is a political protest?

Do you know the teacher? Because iirc he is adamant this is his true self, no politics involved.

Google is your friend. 'gate keeping / gate keeper' is a rather common term, I am sure that you will work it out just from reading the post.

A transwoman has told another transwoman that they are not, in fact, trans.

If transwomen can't even agree on what constitutes 'true' trans I don't see how us mere women are supposed to be able to do so.

The peak hypocrisy is that the same male has also questioned two women about their professional 'identities' and then another male about their 'identity', yet constantly lectures everyone on their, the male in question's, identity as a woman.

You really couldn't script this hypocrisy any better than this barrister is playing out unscripted in public at the moment.

And, the women's professional qualifications are fact, checkable and easily definable in a non-circular way and not some legal fiction. Go figure.

So, if i am following correctly...

Trans people are who they say they are and it's literal genocide to not accept without exception.

Except where its obviously someone joking about being trans

TERFs are bigoted old witches claiming some men might pretend to be trans in order to play out a fetish in public.

The post uses it as a verb - not common, at least, it seems, outside of slang in some corners of the internet.
