Article in Unherd by Mary Harrington about 'transmaxxing', a phenomenon in which young men transition because they can, not because they have dysphoria but in some vague hope of having sex with sympathetic women.

It's reminded me of Ollie London, who assumed that just because you can do something (in his case have surgery to make him look Korean) it's okay. No ideological awareness, no ethics, just a why not? kind of attitude.

We had an interesting visitor to the board a couple of years ago late one night who introduced those unyet knowledgeable about transmaxxing.

There was a thread here a few weeks ago from someone whose colleague was male NB or whatever, was being demanding about his status and all. But the thing that struck me was he said he was 'thinking about becoming a woman' and would decide in the new year (iirc).

I came across some prick on Facebook like that, he looked like a total obvious man, very conventional wedding photos and wife. I think for some it's just attention seeking trolling or a way to exert control and gain power.

Once you realise this is a men's sexual rights movement at its core, as many of us have been saying for what seems like forever, everything becomes much much clearer

This is why a clinical diagnosis of gender dysmorphia is required, because these men will regret it and realise that they've been played by the system (TRAs, medical industry etc).

Madigan was like this, I think. Unattractive but entitled young men have every incentive to make themselves seem more interesting and more open to the sympathetic attention of young women who feel sorry for them by pretending to be “trans”.

This really sounds very similar to way heterosexual girls are transitioning (ROGD), both sexes are unhappy with how their sex is viewed in society and see a sex change as a way to escape that. With schools promoting gender ideology and gender stereotypes (thanks to material from Stonewall, Mermaids et al) children get into a mindset and a warped view of their own sex.

Incels need to go out and get a job. But perhaps that speaks to how bad job opportunities are for young people and how badly schools are preparing them for life.

We also need to be careful that most of this is American, so car insurance etc may be based on that country. I don't know how much of this incel culture actually exists outside of the US.

There's no such thing as a sex change. Sex is immutable.

I suspect, as someone upthread said about Lily Madigan, that this kind of thought process appeals to the kind of adolescent who isn't cutting it as a traditional alpha male or female — the plain ones, the low self-esteem ones, the short lads and tall girls, the soft-faced boys and girls with prominent features who worry about getting dates. I was one of those myself, I know how it feels.

How do you know what their ideology is? Did you ask them?

I've heard of transmaxxing, they want to become the girlfriend they cannot get. In my opinion it just boils down to porn sickness and autogynephilia and women shouldn't pander to it but instead heed the natural revulsion they feel, it serves a purpose.
