Just to clarify, John Barrowman didn't get his cock out as part of an act. I’m a lesbian, I have mostly always use gay or gay woman to describe myself.
I sometimes say lesbian. I have very occasionally used queer. As far as I’m concerned they all accurately described my sexuality as a woman who’s only had relationships with women and is married to a woman.
