Rosie Jones is no longer a lesbian

Anyone watching Friday Night Live? She’s just announced she is “gay”. Is this a deliberate move away from lesbians who are increasingly being targeted for being gc?

The last comedian to play the piano with their cock became President of Ukraine. It's a vote winner.

Omg. Please tell me you're joking

Ereshkigalangcleg · 22/10/2022 10:16

Male people however using the word lesbian are applauded unconditionally. Someone highly cynical might say that the word has been emptied out for their use.

And yes, I perceive this too.

Clymene · 22/10/2022 10:17

Just your regular reminder that Wayne Couzens was also very keen on flashing his cock

Thank you for posting this.

I just went and looked. Gah. Full of "she" "her" "amazing" "brave" "strong".

Fucking hell.

I don't think this is waking people up the way that many of us thought it would. People genuinely don't dare to criticise a single thing someone with a trans identity does.

If a regular bloke got his nob out as the finale of his set and started swinging it around, there would be no shortage of women calling him out. But if it's a trans woman, suddenly it's an act of bravery and is somehow groundbreaking.

As someone said on Twitter, it's just another bloke getting his nob out and insisting he has the right to do that because he wants to. That entitlement pretty much sums up the gender identity crowd.

billy connelly danced naked on stage for comic relief some years ago. I only recall ‘Mary whitehouse’ types getting offending.

This was no different, apart from the fact that Jordan is trans.

Randomcommentary · 22/10/2022 10:20

Billy Connolly with his penis out. m.facebook.com/story.php/?story_fbid=1651675201528905&id=156400551056385

JustStopOilyPoshKids · 22/10/2022 10:42

I couldn't care less what Rosie Jones calls herself.

I liked Ben Elton's intro and close. He was taking the piss and making a reasonable point about nuance.

I thought Jordan was funny. Laughed out proper at the from me to you bit. I didn't find it threatening. "I'm better than you" wasn't addressed specifically to women. I took you as in anyone. All the audience. The comic exaggerating their narcissism and making a routine out of it. Quite ridiculous. Ala Loadsamoney. And ye it makes a change from self deprecating comics and that shtick. Seeing a stand up strip off at the end is pretty standard too. Is the signature for I'm being edgy / shocking/ authentic/ desperate / whatever. Got fed up of the boobs n cocks at Edinburgh a few years back. YYY a meatsuit!

Comedy is multifaceted and you can take it as you wish. Is telling that there's plenty of folk on Twitter seeing Jordan as defiant, stunning and brave. Also that plenty of women here see it as goady and threatening.

Good it gets people talking. And laughing at the whole batshit world we live in

Did Billy Connolly claim that he was a) a woman and b) better at being a woman that women while he was flashing his cock?

Interestingly, the majority of people on Twitter who thought that Jordans performance was 'brilliant' and 'groundbreaking' blah blah blah, are he/him type blokes. It does feel like bog standard misogynist men have found the perfect way to shit on women whilst still making themselves look like 'good men'. Just fuck off.

Ah well, at least it brings more sunlight to the 'trans people are the most vulnerable and oppressed shy wallflowers who just want to pee' crap we are fed. And the 'omg, GCs are just like, so obsessed with genitals'.

I also thought aggressive 'me, me, meeeeeeeeeee' was pretty revealing too.

If Gogglebox cover it, it will definitely be from a 'oh, how hilariously cheeky, isn't it great that trans people are allowed to exist on TV these days, we have come such a long way' angle.

Birdsweepsin · 22/10/2022 10:53

I'm better than you.

I'm so f**king good at my job.

You're so lucky to have me here performing for you.

All the statements are just so masculine.

Billy Connolly didn’t claim to be a woman but I don’t see why that matters to what’s being discussed. A penis on stage is what’s being discussed I. Response to @SpidersAreShitheads “if a regular bloke got his nob out as the finale of his set and started swinging it around, there would be no shortage of women calling him out.”

Jordan was claiming to be better than men and women, and everyone else.

How is Jordan as a trans woman any more of a threat than Billy Connolly?

Cuck00soup · 22/10/2022 10:53

LizzieSiddal · 22/10/2022 07:49

Yep, Ben followed up "my pronouns are..." with "my adjectives are..." so I don't think he was being entirely sincere there.

Agreed, plus he added soemthing aling the lines of..: and welcome to all genders who haven’t been invented yet.

I didn’t see the stripper, thank god, well at least the public will be left in no doubt that these people are not women.

And finished off with that's a knob joke

Once again the irony has gone over the heads of those desperate to perform their inclusiveness.

JustStopOilyPoshKids · 22/10/2022 10:54

Dyou think Jordan's comedy routine kinda took the piss out of that group too? Shouted out 'gay' at the fella who agreed they were beautiful. Plus the whole yr googling me for porn and fetishising my body so here is. Here's my tits n cock. That's possibly quite uncomfortable for some straight he/him TWAW ally bloke. Particularly if that allyship is performative and facile.

I took at Jordan saying I couldn't give a shit if you see me as a woman or not and playing with the audience.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 22/10/2022 10:58

The parts I really didn’t like are:

female Russell Brand - I thought no body mixed up sex and gender!

during the audience questions when told he was pretty called the guy ‘gay’, does that mean he is acknowledging he is male? Plus is sounded very negative, wren’s we past using gay as an insult.

and finally, the anal as default being preferred by the majority of men.

On the clips online it cuts out before the reveal, is this the same on the show?

To be honest I didnt analyse it that much. I just saw an aggressive male flashing his penis. Maybe I'm not 'deep' enough to appreciate that kind of artistry......

Smilelesstalkmore · 22/10/2022 11:11

I don't want to see anyone's telly on cock unsolicited tbh.

But in answer to your question, transwomen are demanding access to all women's spaces including toilets, changing room, refuges, hospitals and prisons. And are gaslighting women into believing that they are disgusting unkind far right bigots if they are uncomfortable with this. The narrative they push as part of this gaslighting is that transwomen are the most vulnerable and oppressed demographic, who have severe gender dysphoria and discomfort with their bodies, just want to pee and would never show their penis to someone else in public. That women who discuss not wanting penises in their spaces are 'obsessed with genitals'. And further, that if women don't budge over and make space then it will be their fault if transwomen suffer violence at the hands of a male. Performances such as that of Jordan Gray last night show, once again, that this narrative is false.

Are you saying it's bigoted for women to have a problem with this?

thirdfiddle · 22/10/2022 11:13

Yeuch. I feel for the poor sod who had to clean that keyboard after.

Very masculine behaviour.

Ben Elton - he's a comedian and writer, he observes, he satirises, he's fucking rude, he keeps his own opinions close to his chest sometimes. Identity Crisis was funny, I liked it, it definitely felt like astute observation of the whole situation. Obviously I think my position is logically watertight so to me it felt like vindication of my views, and I could well imagine him turning round and saying /obviously/ it's a load of old bollocks. I think someone from the opposing camp could read it and think the same thing about their position. (I'm not usually sweary on the internet, it felt appropriate when discussing BE!)

The great JKR also writes realistic, broadly sympathetic trans characters, and realistic, mixed responses to them from other characters (the younger more supportive than the older etc). We know what she thinks because she said. I wouldn't have known from her writing either.

Navigatingnewwaters · 22/10/2022 11:13

Rubidium · 21/10/2022 22:58

Jordan Gray, transwoman, gets her tits and knob out on Channel 4 and all is stunning and brave.

Jerry Sadowitz (allegedly) gets his knob out in a small theatre in Edinburgh in front of a paying audience (who are probably well aware of the likelihood of Sadowitz’s knob making an appearance) and he gets the rest of his shows cancelled.

🤔

Yes but Jordan’s was a female penis 😉

Melroses · 22/10/2022 11:15

Billy Connolly was not at all funny at times too. It was just the good stuff that got on the television.

JustStopOilyPoshKids · 22/10/2022 11:22

"I don't want to see anyone's telly on cock unsolicited tbh"

Oh I dunno.. I think a huge telly crashing down on a cock might be more funny than a flaccid bellend wiping a keyboard for a second!

Yes I do think it’s bigoted.

It’s bigoted because you are focused on transwomen and no mention of the rights of transmen (who by your own argument are women so deserve to supported by feminism and women’s rights).

What Jordan or Billy do on stage where they perform is no reflection of what they are like in their private lives.

If someone wants to rape or sexually abuse me or anyone else, they will do it. A very tiny minority of men have claimed to be transwomen for nefarious purposes but the majority of transpeople just want to live peacefully within society.

i think that we as a society should be looking to seek solutions for transwomen and transmen as normal
human beings and not vilify them for the actions of the few. Where can they have hospital treatment, seek refuge or go to the toilet without their gender being an issue for anyone? Individual toilet cubicles, hospital rooms, changing rooms for all.

The transpeople I know are all lovely, kind human beings and navigate prejudice and trauma everyday. I only want to support them.

lifeinthelastlane · 22/10/2022 11:49

I can't believe not wanting male bodied people in women's single sex spaces is being described as "bigoted".
Or is that another word that has changed its definition beyond reason?

Smilelesstalkmore · 22/10/2022 11:54

If someone wants to rape or sexually abuse me or anyone else, they will do it. A very tiny minority of men have claimed to be transwomen for nefarious purposes but the majority of transpeople just want to live peacefully within society.

So how many women would you be willing to see raped or sexually assaulted as collateral for ensuring that male feelings are not hurt? 5, 10, 20?

And 'you're gonna get raped anyway so you as well not bother with any safeguards around single sex spaces' is not the clever argument you think it is.

So, do you not think that women are entitled to any single sex spaces away from males then? That toilets, changing rooms, hospital wards, refuges, prisons, should all just be mixed sex?

And anything else is 'bigotry'?

Interesting......
