I think it's interesting how the push of gender ideology and the antics of TRAs have shown many people who definitely didn't identity as feminists (and probably still don't) the misogyny and sexism in society - particularly the misogyny built in to gender ideology.

I liked the farms, though some of the language used is not something I would ever repeat, because there are/were a lot of different viewpoints on it - many I didn't agree with. But people discussed ideas and had to back up their claims with primary resources, not just articles about the primary resources that repeat the same claims without any evidence. I think 'no debate' or trying to shut down discussions with cries of 'Nazi!' or 'right-wing' just cause people to shut down and puts them on the defensive. I think getting people to argue their point is much more constructive as a way to understand each other better and maybe reach a consensus.

It's the sacred castes - who can you NOT criticize without the risk of losing your livelihood or favourite website or incurring the wrath of social media activists. I think the TRAs scored a bit of an own goal with trying to take down the farms. Also, I think the Streisand Effect may come back and bit them on the ass. I had never read the Keffels thread, but after all of this I have read the highlights (it's fucking massive) as I was curious as to who Keffels is.

yep, me too. And I have a lot of aquaintances in the techy world who were just vaguley aware of both KF and MN and were pretty much just assuming all the rightwing/nazi stuff was true, but the CloudFlare thing is work to them so they've now looked into it and are now active memberes of one or both communities :)

I think after seeing so many people being called right-wing and a nazi and transphobic when they are not any of those things, has made those words loose all meaning to me. If someone is called any of those things, I want to see what they actually said/did to see if it really is fascist or transphobic or whatever-phobic. It's unfortunate as there are people out there who think all group X should be harmed and are actually nazis, but they get lost in the noise.

I guess after trying to redefine 'woman' and 'man' and 'homosexuality', TRAs will also redefine 'fascist' and 'right-wing' and 'nazi' to mean anyone who disagrees with me in the slightest.
