Lesbians not welcome at Gay Pride

This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

Andrew Doyle summed it up well, explains very clearly what the issues are:

Thanks for this link, Ereshkigalangcleg. It's calm, clear and factual.

I think it’sa bit disingenuous to say they were thrown out for being lesbian when they went straight to the front of the march with banners that they knew would draw this kind of reaction. The reaction was presumable totally expected. I support their right to be there, I think they are brave protesters and this is a visible and well planned protest. I also think the way they were treated stands in stark contrast to the way black clad tras were treated by the police. However, I don’t think they were thrown out for being lesbian, they were thrown out for counter protesting. They weren’t just taking part in the march with different opinions. I almost think that would be even better publicity if they just joined quietly at the back, as I think the outcome would be the same and it would really highlight the bigotry of the rest of the crowd and the police, but who am I to criticise? At least they’re out there, doing something that matters.

NotBadConsidering · 28/08/2022 08:18

Why were they counter protesting?

Because they are lesbians.

Why do they need to protest their same sex attraction?

Because they are lesbians who find themselves in the ridiculous situation where declaring themselves as same sex attracted is a protest.

Why were they abused for their protest - AT PRIDE?

Because they are lesbians who exclude males and hence fair game to be abused. At PRIDE.

Everything they experienced was because they are lesbians.

I think Pride is just a corporate virtue signalling display now that has been trans dominated and has very little to do with sexual orientation. Self appointed committees who put males first organise it and I am more inclined to ignore it. Pride month was ages ago anyway. Did Wales not get the memo? It's attention seeking for narcissists now

Cardiff's Pride event has always been held in late August/early September, as have many others in other UK cities. Pride month hasn't always been widespread, and it's only in the past ten years that they've thrown rainbows at everything in June. Previously it was just the Stonewall riots being recognised every June rather than a full on month.

I've found it interesting the news outlets that have and haven't reported on this, not many surprises there. Local papers have said SWP released a statement after an "incident" but put no further details. I'm waiting to hear from some friends that attended, I'll be interested to hear what they say - some are fully signed up to the gender bullshit.

That was very clear

im confused as to how 10 women ‘stopped’ the march….I thought from that policeman video that the women were marching as well

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 28/08/2022 08:51

This does rather put to be the ridiculous notion that I've heard some TRAs say - that men suddenly experience all the oppression which women have grown up with and continue to experience when they put on a dress, doesn't it?

Whatiswrongwithmyknee · 28/08/2022 09:10

*put to bed. I hate typing on my rubbish phone.

Tirediam · 28/08/2022 09:24

@XiXimXerJinping yes it is 😊 she is AWESOME. And I know the girl yelling at her… she now identifies as non binary but so many posts are calling her a trans woman and she’s not happy about it (friends on fb.. she doesn’t know I’m on the side of get the L out). She was spouting all day about how the group were transphobic and basically everyone is transphobic. Eyeroll

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 28/08/2022 09:44

is she not?

shame

IcakethereforeIam · 28/08/2022 09:47

That person telling them to 'fuck off' is a woman?

Just to be clear, the old fashioned 'cunty' kind?

No! Really!

Really can't tell on a 'phone screen.

Whatwouldscullydo · 28/08/2022 09:50

The police are idiots. The plan has worked. They are nothing more than " heavies" working for tras.

If having to throw lesbians out of pride parads for stating their same sex attraction doesn't make them realise what they have become then nothing will.

I was just talking to dd about the pride event she attended

she saiid there were some religious types with placards telling everyone they were going to hell i asked if theyd been moved on by police and she said no…

i told her about the police removing these women

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2022 10:03

I thought non-binary was trans?

Helleofabore · 28/08/2022 10:08

And if NB is trans, why are they so offended at being mistaken for a transitioned male?

I wonder if this sets the dissonance alarm off? That they are not actually the true believers they thought and were loudly virtue signaling in a video clip that has spread throughout the world…

Get the L Out stated that the police told them to march at the front of the parade.

the official Pride organisers don’t allow them in the actual parade.

hewouldwouldnthe · 28/08/2022 10:19

So sad that the whole pride and LGBT movement has been polarised in this way.

My dd hasn't quite connected all the dots yet. She hasn't been to pride. I hope she doesn't. Her friends all seem.quite shy and sweet. I think it would be a huge shock to them.all to discover that something that was supposed to represent them now hates them so much.

There's a longer video that adds a bit more context

Handsoffmyrights · 28/08/2022 10:36

Well done to those women. I'm sorry you have been treated like this again.

The police were captured by TRAs a long time ago and I'm not sure what it will take for them to stop bowing down to these bullies, predominantly led by straight white males.

The story is in the Daily Mail.

@Tirediam thanks for the reply. My eyebrows are gradually settling into their usual place. I feel a bit sorry for her now, but her conduct was inexcusable. Not that she was alone in that.

Does anyone know if Get the L Out applied for a place in the march? It makes little difference. I suspect if they did they'd have been turned down or made to march at the very back. And would still have been attacked as happened yesterday.

Tirediam · 28/08/2022 11:12

I asked for my comment to be removed as it’s outing to her and it’s not up to me to tell people who she is. But yes she’s a girl.
The story is on daily Mail and they’re calling her a trans woman as well.
No idea if they did. They’re on instagram and are pretty good at replying if you wanted to ask 😊

QueenHippolyta · 28/08/2022 11:17

I love Angela Wilde, what a great fearless butch lesbian!
Also Germaine Greer, Julia Long, Sheila Jefferys,
these women are true feminist heroines
let's celebrate women
and forget pride

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2022 10:03

I thought non-binary was trans?

The next big internecine clash will be trans v non-binary because they're not intellectually coherent under the same umbrella.

IcakethereforeIam · 28/08/2022 11:22

I can only recall the mail article calling her a transgender woman which isn't inaccurate if she's nb, but I didn't read it that carefully. However, I hope they amend it because that's not how most people will interpret it.
