Lesbians not welcome at Gay Pride

This is horrifying. Women (lesbians) told by police they are going to be removed because abuse is being hurled at these women.

Police do nothing about the person shouting the abuse.

I doubt that they stopped the march they just wanted to be in it and the self appointed organisers wanted to control who could and couldn't be in it and control who went where

Exactly, why are the women being punished for men's behaviour? Same old shit really.

The police are all wearing rainbow badges and are fully signed up to a partisan political belief system that is homophobic and misogynistic, and to the very ideology that has carried out a take on Pride and taken the words and the freedoms away from the people who set it up and were using it, and is now working on forcing those people to convert or go underground or be removed by their police enforcers.

Welcome to the UK 2022, where the police are the personal enforcers of a homophobic political lobby rather than providing impartial law enforcement without fear or favour. Yes, it's bloody shameful. Yes there needs to be a major inquiry into how so many government funded bodies with a fundamental duty of impartiality were so utterly bloody stupid and dozy as to have permitted this capture.

CottonSock · 27/08/2022 19:25

They stopped the march. 100%

thirstyformore · 27/08/2022 19:38

I was in Manchester today so popped along to see some of the Pride parade. There seemed to be a lot of focus on the "T". And it felt a very male focussed event.

TheSummerySilveryPussycat · 27/08/2022 19:58

I bet one reason the police did not want to interact with the aggressors was because they literally did not know how to address them.

I wonder how much the fact that the aggressors had clearly gone through male puberty affected things. It may be that the police saw a possibility of more harm to the lesbians than to the aggressors, if things got out of hand, because they were physically weaker than the others, and they took the route they thought would minimise further repercussions.

I still think the right thing to do was to deal with the aggressors, not the victims.

You can see the problem with some DCC fawning in a video over Birmingham Pride and saying how grateful she was that the police had been invited to attend in uniform. That is the wrong dynamic.

I feel for the police because no matter what they did, they would have been wrong.

Lesbians are proud women who love other women. Penises are not involved in a lesbian sex life

Transwomen seem to really hate that, and with the world as it is, they seem to get the last word in don’t they?

RoyalCorgi · 27/08/2022 21:02

Has this been covered anywhere? I expected to see it on Mail Online but it's not there.

ArabellaScott · 27/08/2022 21:29

Theeyeballsinthesky · 27/08/2022 15:08

Hahaha “lesbians with a particular political view point about what the word lesbian means” fuck me just listen to yourself

”vegans with a particular optical view point about what the word vegan means”

lesbians don’t want to fuck people with penises

Vegans don’t eat meat

you don’t get to arbitrarily redefine words and then abuse the people defined by that word for not agreeing with their unwanted redefining

100%

It's just an extension of how abused women are always treated. If you are an abused woman it is you (and sometimes your children) that have to move out and into a refuge or find a safe place to be. If the abused man finds you it is you that has to uproot the family and start again. It is rarely the men who suffer the consequences.

This is very personal to me this week and I have had enough. I am so angry with it all.

Aye, might is right.

Solidarity with Get the L Out. This is showing up Pride for exactly what it's become.

antelopevalley · 27/08/2022 14:46

It is NOT because they are lesbians.

Of course it is. It's because they are making what should be an extremely obvious point - that some women are attracted to the same sex. Not "gender".

It also shows that the police are useless. First the Sarah Everard vigil nonsense, now this.

gatehouseoffleet · 27/08/2022 21:40

The police should protect the more vulnerable party. Not the loudest and most entitled. It's not difficult for them at all.

Yes and the police enable them - as do so many others (see also the Hampstead ladies swimming pool fiasco).

Normally I agree, but in that sort of crowd, he would have had the general public turn on him

In all honesty? I feel for them too. When the meetings are held, like the one recently held about the mess they made with a similar situation where TRAs kicked off against female people publicly wanting to talk about their biology and the fact of sex, the police will be uncomfortably aware of these issues and none of this will have happened with deliberate ill intent.

But the facts stand.

They are all wandering around wearing partisan political symbols - a trap they blundered into with a lot of largely good intentions and naivety to how they were being politically manipulated. And the evidence is available that the manipulation was quite intentional and planned.

They are repeatedly falling into the trap in trying to manage a situation of actually letting the quieter, easier, and always bloody female group come off worst.

They are repeatedly demonstrating partisan policing in their actions.

And they are waking up to this far, far too slowly.

So all strength to the brave women who are strong enough to walk into situations where they are intentionally letting those all too happy to demonstrate vile behaviour and intimidation and anti-female, homophobic politics show their colours and let the police make a public mess of it, and because of their guts things will eventually shift. I admire them, I really do. They are letting peaceful protest do what it was designed to do. And all the TRA need to do to thwart them is smile, welcome them, join arms and march with them, support the right of females to be same sex attracted and say so alongside females who want to be homogenderal and TQ+. Be inclusive. As opposed to screaming abuse and threats.

But this has come about through females being too patient. Too generous. Too accommodating. And as is so often to said to women in low level abusive situations on the relationship boards you have to stop being the easier party to upset . The situation is being controlled by a political group who know when they throw a damn great tantrum their behaviour unfortunately ends in a desperate grown up handing them sweets to make them stop.

This has to stop.

ControversialOpening · 27/08/2022 22:01

What I witnessed from about 10 meters away is that a very small group of about 10 people stopped a march of thousands

Wow! Fewer than a dozen lesbians stopped thousands of people. They must be the toughest dykes in the world.

lesbians rock.

Those lesbians certainly do rock! Imagine! A small group of lesbians stopping a whole march!

And yet, no one takes any notice of what they are saying…. It is amazing to see activists not understand how the optics look to people who are not deeply entrenched in their ideology.

So ... the police are being led by a form of terrorism, effectively.

Helleofabore · 27/08/2022 22:35

Who thenwaited with patience in the boiling sun to be allowed to continue.

You didn’t see the video then? Patience? Yelling and screaming at lesbians who have been excluded?

How very inclusive of pride? To now exclude some of the people who were there from the beginning and they don’t seem to see this as a problem.

FemaleAndLearning · 27/08/2022 22:36

Amazing women with great placards. It all seems so bloody obvious (lesbians don't like penis) but it has to said and I'm glad they held up the parade whilst the police dithered.

Write up of incident on Reduxx with a statement from Pride Cymru, to which they have restricted replies:

Another day, another video to show me how the world is going nuts.
Lesbians having to explain what same sex attraction is, what is going on 🤦🏼‍♀️

2Rebecca · 27/08/2022 23:40

I think Pride is just a corporate virtue signalling display now that has been trans dominated and has very little to do with sexual orientation. Self appointed committees who put males first organise it and I am more inclined to ignore it. Pride month was ages ago anyway. Did Wales not get the memo? It's attention seeking for narcissists now

Ereshkigalangcleg · 27/08/2022 23:56

Andrew Doyle summed it up well, explains very clearly what the issues are:
